This is a bit weird, but what's the deal with Paul's ass🙏😭?? Like someone wrote about Linda fucking Paul in the ass and I saw someone mention Nancy touching Paul's butt 'intensly'. I think that Steve Howard wrote about that Paul and Linda thing, but is the Nancy one true??
I don't really know what to say about that. Yes, Howard Stern was the one who said that he didn't understand how Paul's marriage with Linda lasted so long, that it must be because Linda ties Paul up every night and "fucks him in the arse real good." And regarding Nancy, people talk about it because of this:
Beginning with the breakup of the Beatles and focusing in on the 1970s when Paul was running on that sweet, uncut Sad.
September 20, 1969: John tells Paul he's quitting The Beatles. As John beats him over the head and shoulders with a large stick, Paul apologizes profusely and asks John to please reconsider. In retaliation for this, John murders him, to raucous applause.
April 10, 1970: Paul announces his departure from The Beatles, is publicly beaten, and then fired out of a cannon.
April 11, 1970: John tells The Media that Paul McCartney is the greatest fiend to ever walk the earth.
April 12, 1970: Paul releases a statement to the effect that John's comments seem a bit harsh, but his dear friend is entitled to his opinion. In retaliation for this, John murders him, to raucous applause.
A montage set to How Do You Sleep (released Sept 1971) begins. We see Paul sinking into depression and self-isolation, all his selfless overtures to John cruelly rejected. Every time he leaves the house someone throws a tomato at him, and when he tries to sleep he sees only John's laughing face. He bravely soldiers on, taking solace in music and family and nature and his own innate goodness, and briefly in vast quantities of liquor, but luckily the love of his wife quickly cures his alcoholism.
May 17, 1971: Paul releases RAM, considered by modern critics to be the greatest record of all time and the birth of the genre that would come to be known as "Good Music." In retaliation for this, The Media murders him, to raucous applause.
September 13, 1971: Paul adds another child, Stella, to the pack of abandoned and unloved children he has chosen to shelter on his farm. The pack began with his adopted son, Julian Lennon, who had contact with Paul no more than two years ago. Like most fathers, Paul will see him again in at most a couple of decades.
A montage begins, and Family Man Paul sets his life to rights to the delicate poignancy of Blackbird. The world still despises him, but he no longer cares, not when he's Family Man Paul. John publicly admits he was wrong to abuse Paul so cruelly, and Family Man Paul smiles and shakes his head. Oh, John.
December 9, 1980: Paul receives a phone call. We hear only his end of the conversation:
Paul: Hullo? What do you mean? Something's happened to.... John?
His face slowly empties of all emotion as a dull roar fills our ears. The screen cuts to black and holds it for several long moments as the roar fades away.
A tragic montage set to Let It Be begins. Paul's beautiful, aching sadness is in every frame, in every moment of his life from this point on. In a crowded room, surrounded by the rich and famous, Paul gently touches a picture of John's face. In sleep, cuddling his many millions of dollars, he whispers John's name.
2002-2006: Paul Does Not Hit Heather Mills.
After a jarring cut, the montage resumes. The Media lavishes Paul with awards, and he graciously accepts, with no trace of lingering bitterness or trauma. Over his beautiful, noble heartache, all we hear is that gentle echo, "let it be."
Finally, we find Paul sitting alone against the sunset, his humble farmhouse behind him. Shoehorned dialogue with a different wife character than before informs us he's become a billionaire, and he smiles wryly, indifferent to his well-deserved success. We know in this moment that only the love of John could heal his aching heart. After a long pause...
Wife, softly: You miss him, don't you?
The audience waits with bated breath. Is the wife character admitting that she knows he's in love with John after all these years? Is she a proxy for us, the audience, deeply in love with Paul and yet even more deeply in love with his tragic, unfulfilled love for John? Will he finally say it aloud, make the tragedy real, tangible, make it ours?
Thank you to the 3 great loves of Paul mccartney life for nuturing him as a songwriter, a father, and an all- around loveable guy. Thank you for supporting his genius beautiful little bisexual heart ❤️
Just learned that Nancy Shevell, before she married Paul, was the bus committee chairman for the Metropolitan Transit Authority...another sign of paul's deep love of buses
I’m new to all of this but why would paul get married on john’s birthday?? and like why would he do that to nancy?? omg he could’ve picked literally any date or was it a coincidence… i don’t think so.. geez.
Greetings, and welcome to the asylum, dear anon!
Something I think is important to remember, especially if you're more inclined to look at things through a McLennon Is True (In A Completely Reciprocal Sexual/Romantic Way) than I am, is that the other "characters" in this narrative besides John and Paul have agency. If it really bothered Nancy that they were getting married on John's birthday - or that they were getting married in the same location that he married Linda, which I definitely don't see nearly as many people bringing up as potentially upsetting to Nancy - I would be willing to bet that that would not have happened. Nancy would have said, "No, that's insane - we're not doing that." And Paul, more than likely, would have been like, "You're right - that is a little cuckoo-bananas, sorry."
My personal belief is that this is actually a bit of a happy accident. Here are the pieces that fell into place that made 9 October 2011 the Best Option, imo.
People make a lot of the fact that registry offices in the UK generally aren't open on Sundays, unless you specifically pre-book your wedding - but Paul and Nancy would probably already be doing that, not least because of the additional security needs they'd have. I don't think Paul wanted a repeat of the 1969 bedlam and I seriously doubt he and Nancy wanted to get any other hapless couples caught up in the celebrity vortex. So a Sunday, when any other nuptials would also have to be pre-booked, seems like a great choice.
The weekend prior was the London premiere of Martin Scorsese's documentary about George. This meant that some folks who are usually residing overseas - Ringo and Barbara, for instance; although I'm sure they would've made the trip anyway, lol - were already, conveniently, in London. So the closer that event is to the wedding, the better. (I think people forget that this was a thing, which is totally reasonable. I do not forget because I was in London and was at both events in an uninvited capacity, lmao.)
Why not book the wedding during the week, then? Well, because Nancy is Jewish and at least semi-observant. Rosh Hashanah - the Jewish New Year and the start of the High Holy Days - began on the evening of 28 September and Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, was 7/8 October. Getting married on Yom Kippur is a pretty major no-no and, traditionally, marrying during that interval between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur is also discouraged. It's not a good time to have a big party, basically, to the point where I think most Jews who engage with their faith or culture on any level would find it unacceptable and even offensive. So that makes the earliest possible date for their marriage... 9 October.
As a bonus, the four days after Yom Kippur - especially the very next day (Tishrei 11) - are considered "extremely auspicious" dates to get married. (I put that in quotes because that exact wording is used on multiple different websites I looked at.)
Given how chill and respectful Nancy is about Linda's continuing importance to Paul (and Paul's eldest children), I'd be inclined to doubt she'd feel any differently about John - regardless of what your take on the John/Paul relationship is. I'd be willing to bet that, when all these factors lined up for them to get married on 9 October, they both saw it as an additional "blessing" and a way for John - someone who is unquestionably very important to Paul - to be a part of their big day.
