How To Make Direct-written 3D Structures
Many complex 3D nanofibrous structures with high aspect ratio have been built based on NFES. Lee and Kim proposed a method to fabricate a freestanding nanowall (Fig. 9.20C) with direct-written nanofibers. To control the whipping instability of the electrical nanojets, a conductive microline on the insulating plate was used as the grounded collector to focus the electrical field. In this way, a jet with 180 nm diameter and 30 mm/s velocity can be used to construct a nanowall of 4.5 mm height and 220 mm length. Han et al. applied electrohydrodynamic printing for 3D microstructures. A droplet will print on the top of the previous droplet once the nozzle is fixed at a certain location, which results in a high aspect ratio of pillars. A circular tube with a height of 40-60 mm and wall thickness of 6 mm was printed, as shown in Fig. 9.20D. Compared with traditional 3D printing, the resolution was improved by 1 or 2 orders of magnitude.

#NaNoWriMo fury typing!
There was a point yesterday when I thought I might give up #Nanowrimo this year. I hadn't typed a word on my typewriter for 4 days, after day 1 really, and I had become frustrated by it all. The main issue was that I was writing as I normally write; always correcting mistakes or fine tuning sentences. And typing on a typewriter, there is no just fixing a mistake, so I was spending time retyping entire pages and after only getting about 4 pages in with 10 hrs at the machine, I was exhausted and my brain was spent. Today, after a few days of not writing, I decided to sit down and stop writing in my normal style, stop worrying about the best word to choose next, stop correcting and just write. Put word after word down. I typically write in a poetic style, and I am always thinking of how my word will feel when reading them, and usually I spend more time on this and biting my nails worrying about it that it takes forever to get an article down. Well, I cannot write this way on a typewriter while trying to complete this feat. And this is the rough FIRST draft that I've been treating as if it was going to be the final form. Today, I am happy to say I sat down, and in 2 hours I blew through 10 pages of my memoir, as if I couldn't stop typing. And I only did because I had to go to work. The pages were completely with ease just by allowing myself to make mistakes and keep on going. It felt great! It is clear how I will need to handle the rest of this month if I am going to complete the 50,000. I feel motivated again!
