Why not volunteer: for a year at a soup kitchen, pick up trash along your city's streets, organize beach clean-up, help your neighborhood keep their yards clean to maintain your property value or just atmosphere/environment, drive for meals on wheels, donate blood & plasma, become a big brother/sister, foster children, adopt older children, help homeless people to accept the programs their city has, play music at hospitals for pediatric units, surprise people with paying for their groceries, sign people up to be organ donors, etc.
