That’s a wrap. A win for the old guys😏
I will say that this is the fastest first mile I’ve ran in years, but I knew I couldn’t lose sight of the leader. I kept him within 100m, and after the first hill at .8 miles, that lead closed to about 20-30m. At that point, I shifted the strategy to back off the pace a little on the flat portions and charge the hills.
The second hill around 1.75 miles was less steep, but a much longer incline. I used it to close the remainder of the gap and took the lead on the decline. The last hill was just before the last quarter mile. I charged it and after the decline, I looked back and saw no one, so I took it easy the last quarter mile.
I appreciate those men more than they know for the challenge.
OAN: I realized that no matter where I run, NRC app is off about -.07 miles on average for this distance. At first I thought the markers were off at the greenway I normally run, but it was roughly the same out here today. Oh well🤷🏾♂️
