Just wanted to stop by and say take your time with writing/updating. Its hard work to keep your thoughts together, keeping up with details for a particular story, and trying not to lose motivation. Remember to drink and take breaks 💕

OMG this is so cute and warming 🥺❤️. I just want to let you know  that I am still HIGHLY motivated. Other than my series out right now (predilection, TLBNRB) , I have been writing for other projects and stories that I want to publish sometime soon as well. this ask literally came in good timing because while I was writing a chapter- I lost a little confidence in it and decided to start another all over (bad habit of mine). I promise I am still invested in updating and I am truly sorry If im taking a while for any new updates but they are coming.

How did you come up with Nara?

nara came to me v spontaneously. i was wanting to have a finn oc bc my boy deserves so much love, and also really wanted someone to beat the shit out of kylie ron so i had the basics down. then i started reading so much on the lore, gathering inspiration from them, and just connecting the dots from canon to my own canon and boom, nara came to be. some parts of her story still is changing the more i think of cool and unique ideas, but for the most part, i have it all planned out!

i was forced to survive in your absence + the oc that comes to mind first!

Several years had passed since Nara seen for her former master. Deep lines were etched on his face, grey hairs scattered along his overgrown hair and beard, and his robes were raggedy and unkept. This was not the same Luke Skywalker she knew and valued as a young padawan. This wasn’t the same Luke Skywalker who recruited her from Strion-67A just by sensing the Force within her. This wasn’t the same Luke Skywalker she idolized the legend to be.

The all-powerful Jedi she worshipped wasn’t the man who stood before her with sorrow in his faded blue eyes. He was a disappointment.

For so long, Nara wished to reunite with someone from her old life. To embrace the people she viewed as family. It was a hoax, of course, since the girl was the sole survivor of the massacre, but Nara wanted to believe nevertheless. She longed for the idea of not being the only one to survive scathed from the hands of the boy she hated with every fiber in her body. Now, her wish came true, but it came with a consequence. 

Burning rage bubbled within her. Luke Skywalker had been alive all along? Why hadn’t he reached out to her through the Force, just as she tried to do? Why didn’t he try to find his lost padawan and help her through the tragedy? Why would he hide away on this planet and not stop that monster wrecking the entire galaxy?

Nara knew the answer to all those questions, which only made the fire inside of her become unstable. He was weak, a coward, and a failure.

It felt like a century until he finally spoke. “Hello, Nara.” An uncontrollably scoff escaped her lips. Hello Nara? That was all he had to say? When she longed to see her old master again, she expected so much more than a simple greeting. He took note of her demeanor and added on, “I know you must have thousands of questions—”

“You were alive this entire time!” She shouted. Her hands clenched into tight fists at her sides. Luke noticed how her knuckles turned white. “And you didn’t even try to find for me!”

A long frown appeared on his wrinkled and exhausted face. Good, she thought. I’m glad you’re upset. I want you to feel everything I felt since that night. Nara couldn’t stand to look at him anymore. The man in front of her made her stomach churn in disgust, but she refused to give him any relief from the dark stare in her eyes. 

The same stare he saw from his nephew when the light was overshadowed by the dark.

“I wanted to protect you.” Luke’s lifeless eyes softened at his former student. He never anticipated the young girl he met all those years ago, the one who repaired his droid while being fully aware that he never needed to be fixed, the one who trained relentlessly and absorbed every information she could, the one who fiercely loved and cared for her fellow students as if they were her family. 

That little girl didn’t exist anymore. Nara was now a product of the aftermath his nephew left in his betrayal. Then again, so was Luke himself.

Though, Luke didn’t blame her for the loss of innocence. Both were left devastated after the massacre. While he felt her trying to connect with him through the Force shortly after, he didn’t reciprocate. He had recently witness his own nephew fall to the dark side. He didn’t want the same fate to bestow on Nara, so he made sure she couldn’t feel him once he cut himself off from the Force. 

Protecting his student was his last act as a Jedi Master. However, the hurt on her face would be implanted in his head forever with shame.

“Protect me?” She seethed viciously, “You left me! You abandoned me!” Tears pooled in her eyes as she relived through everything since the massacre, but she mustered the energy to not let them fall down her cheeks. “I was forced to survive in your absence! I didn’t have the luxury of hiding away on a planet where I could never be found! I had to suffer while you spent your time in exile! Every time I hold my lightsaber now, all it reminds me is all the people I lost ever since I got my crystal from your training! Everything that’s gone wrong is all because of your neglect, so don’t say you were trying to protect me when I never felt a sense of protection my entire life!”

The words stung the both of them in the heart. Deep down, parts of her outburst weren’t entirely true. But Nara didn’t care to be completely honest at that point. All she wanted was for him to understand what she went through.

And he did. “I’m sorry,” was all he could say.

🌹⭐💚💧+ Nara

🌹how easy is it for them to connect with others and make friends? on the flip side how easy is it for them to make an enemy of someone? are they the kind of person who hangs around the food table at a party and never talks to anyone or are they the type who can talk to anyone? for making friends it depends. when she was on strion, she only had one friend who will be mentioned in the story. when she was luke’s padawan, she connected with the others very well and really treated them as family. afterward the massacre, she only trusted very few people and even then it took some time. except bd-6, that baby droid. is the only exception. enemies is a quick and clean type of thing. if you do something horrible, justice is owed. plain and simple. for the table thing, she’ll probably sit in the middle and jump in whenever she feels like it if she’s with the right kind of people. 

⭐what is your oc afraid of? any crippling phobias or some such? how do they act when scared and what helps them calm down? does anyone ever find your oc scary? why? short answer, a LOT. long answer, she has a strong fear of losing everyone she loves and that’s valid bc she lost 90% of the people closest to her throughout her whole storyline. usually by the hands of kylo ren, but anyways. she has a lot of ptsd dreams about the night of the massacre which are not fun at all. when she gets scared, she’s act extremely impulsively and emotionally bc she would do anything to save the people she cares about. the people who’d usually calm her down were bd-6, han, and finn. their connections to her are so strong and so important that she can be pulled back from the edge just because of them. it’s very moving tbh.

as of her being scary,,,, um,,, yeah. tlj is not a fun time for her and she will be tiptoeing the line between good and bad in order to get her revenge on kylo.

💚talk about some of the traumatic events in your oc’s life. these events can be ones that have happened to them or a loved one. these events can be minor or major. as ive mentioned so many times, the massacre is deeply scarring nara emotionally as well as physically. and while still not getting over that event six years later, han dies right in front of her and had to witness her new friends almost die as well. basically, almost every traumatic thing in her life revolved around kylo one way or another, which is why his death in tros is handled differently bc it makes more sense narratively for nara’s story.

💧what is the earliest memory your oc can recall? do they know what their first words were or remember where they took their first steps? do they have any mementos of their childhood they’ve kept such as a stuffed toy or tiny baby clothes? not so much of a memory, but she can recall some of her home planet where she spent her childhood with her mother. she didn’t have the luxury of keeping anything to remind her of her childhood bc her mother forced 10 year old nara to flee without a warning and landed on strion in an escape pod ever since.

Hi again! Could you please tell me about Nara Jinn?

i’ve been waiting for this one,,, tURN IT UP!!!

anyways, nara is my child and i adore her. i have an ask here that contains a lot on information so you can check that out as well! 

nara is the great granddaughter of qui-gon jinn. i have a whole family tree waiting to be posted once i finish the first chapter of her fic. she has no idea that she is force-sensitive or even knows that the jedi were real until luke suddenly shows up on a planet i created called strion-67a which is basically a junkyard planet in the far outer rim.

long story short, nara trains with luke alongside the other 11 padawans and is the only padawan to survive the massacre but she definitely doesn’t flee unscathed ( which will definitely not be ignored just for angst purposes bc it’s very important ). she suffers from ptsd for a very long time, even six years later when tfa rolls around. once she feels like she’s healing, she loses another person close to her by kylo’s doing.

in tlj, she goes through a big revenge arc. it’s a very pivotal point in her story and without it, her development in tros wouldn’t come together like that’s how important it is to her story. it’s such an interesting take i wanna explore because she has suffered so much and is falling apart so im ready for the painnnn.

but nara’s story is my favorite rn to hc for since i put MONTHS of research into sw lore/wookieepedia and i even have the jedi handbook as a writing guidance so it’s a lot of love put into this story. i love her a lot and is my favorite sw oc i created.

The Fallen Jedi + THAT SCENE

im gonna be hella real about this, 40% of why this story exists is because i wanted an oc who will fuck kylo up and literally want him D E A D!!! that scene for this fic is when kylo kills han, nara literally goes for his fucking throat. she rlly didn’t hesitate and i love that about her. the other 60% is because finn deserves love and boom, we have the fallen jedi.
