Welp. There they all are. The adventuring party from my Sunday d&d game, chibified to make you forget it's grimdark, and with bonus DM's OC, Red, as the spooky DM figure. Had to redo a couple of these because markers behaved stupidly and so did my hands, and also there was confusion over Aités' coloration, but now they all exist.
Memeing slightly. DND is fun but especially when there's angst. (Context below the cut)
So the druid dropped dead as we were preparing for sleep. Raúl frantically tried to resurrect her and failed, broke down in hysterics, then watched her recover on her own as the goddess of death apparently finished needing to talk to her.
Naraji is deeply special to Raúl, as the person that instigated his turn away from the Dread and the first person in his life to show him compassion and kindness. She's like a baby sister to him, as stubborn as she can be, and he's always wanted a sibling. For her to randomly drop dead in the night, and for her to be unreachable by revivify, was a true nightmare scenario for him. It messed up his kohl. (Kohl doesn't run so easy.)
Raúl finds it difficult to touch people; he was raised being told his kind were violent and uncontrollable, and that his touch was never wanted. Coupling that with his palms and fingers being coated in painful and sensitive burn scars, he doesn't touch people without a very good reason. When Naraji began to breathe again, he snatched her up in his arms and held her until she got her bearings.
Dark thing over there. Druid with sunlight emitting from shield over here. Must kill dark thing. Grab shield and take it over to dark thing? NAH GRAB THE WHOLE DRUID. ALL FOOT-TALLER-THAN-YOU OF HER.
I mean, Caoimhe did pass the strength check... but the dark thing promptly blew up and downed them... I got the first death save of the campaign! :D And I failed it!
I could not stop giggling at this the entire time I was drawing it.
