There are a few temples dedicated to Sun-God (Soorya or Surya) in Karnataka. However, it is interesting to note that in Dakshina Kannada district alone, there are two temples dedicated to Sun-God. One is at Naravi, 24 kms from Karkala – on Karkala – Dharmasthala road and another at Maroli in Mangalore.
