If a person is a narcissist, it doesn’t always mean that they’re unapologetically mean, or purposefully an asshole. Narcissists often try very hard to be genuinely good people. They really do try. 

The problem is that even when apologizing for their behavior. It’s always about them. “I’m sorry I did that. I feel terrible. I should not have done that.” “I,” “I,” “I.” No “you,” no “us.” Just “I.” Always “I.” 

And the end of the day, it’s still about them. It always is. 

They may realize that what they did was problematic, or hurtful, but not because of how it made you feel. It’ll be because of how you reacted to it. How you treated them because of it. Not because of how you feel, but because of how your reaction made them feel.

A narcissist doesn't want your love, they don't know what love is. They want your admiration and obedience as a player in their fake make-believe world.

I really can't stand narcissists.

You know, those people who bullshit everything just because they don't feel like they're interesting enough. I see right through it and I just want to shake the other person listening to the bullshit by the shoulders and say "DON'T LISTEN TO HIM! Half of everything he says is either exaggerated or just false!" I'll just have to live with it I suppose. 

Seriously. If you feel like you need to embellish everything you say to make it more interesting, you must be really insecure.

Actually I think some people like that get to a point where they don't even realize they're doing it anymore. Then I just start feeling bad.
