New Kaytranada is really good, like that it’s a tight beat tape instead of one loaded up with features. Played it at work a lot, gets me in the Zone
Earl’s new album is the perfect soundtrack for me rn as I’ve reached a sorta turning point. So nice to hear he’s found some joy in maturity, and taking on responsibility for his family. “Zooming out of thick malaise in my cranium” Tourmaline is my favorite such a beautiful song
Aaliyah’s One in a Million is her best album, Timbaland was really on one in the mid 90s, he made so many incredible r&b beats w/ his eclectic ass drums
Bernard Wright’s ‘Nard seriously fucks, groovy jazz-funk. He really bangs it out on those keys & I need to look up who was slappin on that base.
RH Factor album also has a bunch of tuff grooves but also some neo soul and rap going on. Roy Hargrove is the man here but there’s some great features by D’Angelo, Common, Q-Tip, & Erykah Badu
Theravada album is kinda nice if you like Earl, he produced a lot of songs on Live Laugh Love. Worth checking out he’s got some bars too
