Dear Gus & Magnus,

This morning I left the house around 5:45 to head to the airport. Gus was already up and dress and on his second episode of How to Train Your Dragon when I got downstairs. I flew to Dallas to meet up with Bryan and Brandon in Frisco to work on a few different video shoots, then we hit the road for home, stopping in Mount Pleasant to eat dinner at Nardello's. They dropped me at the airport on our way into town and I came home to a sleeping house at 11pm. It was a long day. I'm glad to be home the rest of the week.

Jimmy’s Salad w/Salmon. Nardello’s Pizza Tavern. Mount Pleasant, Texas. 6.11.2023.

NOTE TO SELF: I forgot they made it small and put it in a boat. Also, the romaine-to-iceberg ratio has sway too far to the iceberg side of things, and the dressing has lost its kick. I need to take a break from Nardello's until I can appreciate this one again. Or maybe I just need get that muhfuggin' Hawaiian pizza I want.

Mediterranean Gyro Wrap w/Jimmy’s Salad. Nardello’s Pizza Tavern. Mount Pleasant, Texas. 6.24.2022.

NOTE TO SELF: I like the Jimmy's Salad as a side -- really balances out the meal. The wrap was good, but too heavy on the feta, too light on the gyro meat.

NOTE TO SELF: I've been off my salad here lately, so I thought I'd give this pizza a run. The crust was overcooked, but not as badly as it looks. If the toppings went to the edge I'd like this more. But I'd get it again.

NOTE TO SELF: The luster has worn off on this one for me. I did have a piece of Brandon's pizza, though, and it was money. It's time for me to mix things up at Nardello's.

Jimmy’s Salad w/Salmon (to go). Nardello’s Pizza Tavern. Mount Pleasant, Texas. 12.4.2021.

NOTE TO SELF: When I picked up the bag, I swear it weighed five pounds with just the salad in it. When I was 100 miles down the road, I tasted it and discovered they had dumped loads and loads of dressing on it. It was delicious, but filling and damn-near a soup. For real, when I got home, I added two romaine hearts and two handfuls of spinach to my leftovers and Liz said, "How much dressing did you put in this!?"

Jimmy’s Salad w/Salmon, Shredded Kale Salad, Hawaiian Pizza (shared all). Nardello’s Pizza Tavern. Mount Pleasant, Texas. 8.24.2021.

NOTE TO SELF: The Jimmy's Salad is my jam, but today it tasted different. It took me a second to notice it had no romaine like it usually does. Still good, but less so. Meanwhile, that peanut dressing on the kale salad was money. And I get the salad so often that I forget how good the pizza is. Next time I come with someone again, I'd be down to split things like this.

Currently ranked 2nd of 21 August meals. (But I feel like variety gave this ranking a bump more than actual taste.)
