narqotic (183823) update
We received some important extra information regarding the previous D18 pets obtained by narqotic.
After reviewing the trade history between narqotic and the owner of the taken D18 pets, we believe that narqotic is not scamming, but is trading unfairly with a friend/family account.
The trade link here shows the full trade for the D18 pets. A second link here shows some extra rares given as a gift a few minutes later. There are two other assorted gift trades sent from narqotic to the same user which we also verified as real, both unrelated to the D18 trade.
Repeated unfair gifting between friends/etc. is still considered against CS rules:
Players who create or control other accounts in order to get around our adoption limits will be banned and their pets will be taken away. If you're trading with other people they have to be players accessing the site for their own enjoyment and not just accounts attributed to real people which exist to give you pets or make unfair trades with you. You may exchange gifts or occasionally make unfair trades with your friends, family, or other users accessing CS from the same device or IP address. However, a majority of trades should be fair and gifts should not consistently benefit only one account.
We do personally believe that this was a very advantageous but ultimately one-off trade between narqotic and someone they know, rather than scamming. There is a small chance that the 'victim' is a sockpuppet, but we don't personally believe that to be the case based on the information we received.
While we want the site to be as fair as possible and would discourage other users from taking advantage of supposed friend/family accounts - especially since it can get you banned - we do not believe narqotic has done anything significantly wrong here, and we certainly don't consider this thing as harmful as real scamming.
