Driving the Conor Pass, Dingle, County Kerry, Ireland on a cloudy day.

One of Ireland’s highest road passes, the Conor Pass crosses the Dingle Peninsula in County Kerry and at points, as seen here is narrow only for one car at a time.

Oversize vehicles (buses, vans, coaches etc.) get a warning to turn back as the overhanging rocks make the road impassable.

My writing

Old military houses lined up in a row. They all look the same. The narrow roads marked with names and each house with a number. “97, 95, 93, 91,” as you walk the numbers keep getting lower and lower. Then you come to the end of the road. You look to the left and see more military housing, same thing with the right. Straight ahead you can see Hannaford, Department of Motor Vehicles, a pet shop, a car wash, and a gas station though you know there’s more shops on the other side of this mini-mall. To the right of the mini-mall is the airport. Looking around, you take it all in. This is the place you grew up in. You have lived here for almost seventeen years and that’s all about to change.
