We never see fanfics where Konoha's villagers are prejudice, hostile, resentful, cold, hateful, untrusting, abusive and toxic towards and suspicious of Sakura for being Naruto's teammate and/or Sasuke's after he defected, or towards Kakashi because he killed Rin and was teammates with two traitors one of which he personally trained, aka Itachi and Sasuke, or towards Iruka because of Mizuki's betrayal, or towards Danzo for take your pick of reasons, so why does Anko Mitarashi, in fanfics, have to get that kind of sh** treatment from the villagers and her peers in the aftermath of Orochimaru's betrayal when he literally experimented on her, and in some stories outright tortured her as well?

I'll never understand why she got so little development in the manga. When I read the manga for the first time, I really thought we'd see her more. She was linked to Orochimaru, a very important antagonist, very competent and had a great introduction (in my opinion at least).

Pure hatred to the fact we didn't get to see more of Shizune and Anko and Kurenai and every other kunoichi of Konoha. Yeah, I love Tsunade she's the exception to the rule but yet again why would you give them such cool designs and make them so epic and then just don't use them really.

You know that flashback where Kakashi saves Iruka and little Naruto from a squad of enemy Kunoichi?

I wish it was Anko and Yugao that saved them instead.

Since Anbu like Yugao would've already been tracking that squad, and were a more likely source of backup.

Yugao's often one of the Anbu that protects little Naruto in fanfics, so seeing her doing it in the anime would've been neat.

Yugao assigned to watch over the little danger magnet from then on.

Naruto endearingly referring to Yugao as “Neko-Neechan,” when she's on duty with Anbu, and “Yugao-Neechan,” when she's off duty, or something silly yet cute like “Kitty Sis,”.

Naruto sensing when Yugao's in the room when he's in the Hokage's office, and always saying goodbye to her on his way out.

+ Anko works with the Anbu on jobs like that, and her also showing up to save Iruka & Naruto would be fun.

Imagine Iruka taking Anko out for dinner to thank her, and having to pay a bigger bill than Naruto's after dinner at Ichiraku's.

Naruto bonding with and befriending Anko because, at least in most fanfics, she's a fellow outcast and hated pariah who's faced similar treatment to Naruto following Orochimaru's betrayal and being curse marked.

Big Sisters Anko and Yugao and Little Bro Naruto dynamic.

Playing, learning, fighting and training together and alongside each other, and sticking up for each other when people disrespect them.

Naruto and Anko at Ichiraku ramen, while the Dango shop owner's dining there, having a playful ramen vs dango argument in front of them and Teuchi while Yugao & Ayame are trying not to burst into laughter.
