*Blows dust off* Friends, I am both thrilled and terrified to introduce this project to you. I wrote this first draft 10+ years ago and haven't touched it since (the title is a work in progress). It's very near and dear to my heart, and I let it sit because I didn't feel the time was right. I think the time is right now to tackle it again. This is a story I'm planning to submit for traditional publishing. Eek! 😱 There's a LOT of work to be done first, though. Here's a wee teaser related to my drink there. .⠀ They say how someone takes their tea says a lot about the person. The equinas take their tea mild, with milk and honey, served in dainty, painted porcelain cups. The drakians, on the other hand, serve theirs in thick, earthenware mugs, strong and hot without anything added. Me, I like a little of both styles. Doing the #PlacesFromYourPage tag from @theconstantvoice . Invarnis, Springhaven, and the rest of the places in my Broken Gears universe are all fictional and made up of a mish-mash of things, save for one. My Grannie Hester owned this house for many years, and we celebrated a variety of holidays here throughout my younger years. Her house serves as the basis for the Allens' manor in "Out of the Shadows" and "Into the Fire." Granted, the house that becomes a safe haven for Lenore is much bigger than this one, but every scene set in the dining room and parlor comes straight from Grannie Hester's house.
