Look over there, do you see those two big stars, and the four little ones in a row? Well, that’s the constellation Cygnus. It’s a swan. Imagine the four stars are the long neck, the big stars are the body, and running crosswise, those stars are the wings... Did you know there was once a girl who turned into a swan?
WHOO! After so long another AU for Skystar on this account! This time, as the title suggests, Swan Lake. Specifically the Barbie movie version

As you may assume of course Starscream is Odette and Skyfire is Prince Daniel. In this AU howeber Starscream is not a baker's son but as is the rule in any good Skystar AU, a scientist. One day Starscream witnesses a unicorn run through the city streets and curious he decides to follow it into the woods. Eventually this leads Starscream to a beautiful lake in the deepest part of the forest. But there is promptly ambushed by Megatron and Blackarachnia. Megatron curses the young scientist to take on the form of a swan for daring to cross the border into his territory. Or in simpler terms, Starscream becomes a Beastformer but is permamently stuck in beastmode.
As Starscream wallows by the lake, lamenting his new bird form when suddenly Optimus Primal finds him. Optimus is the true king of the forest, but not too long ago Megatron and Black Arachnia had attacked him and put a curse on him and all his people. Just like Starscream they all had been forced to become a beastformers. But Optimus explains that he knows a way to ease the curse. He cannot break it fully, but he can give Starscream the opportunity to return to his robot form at night.
Starscream of course happily takes Optimus up on that offer and just as predicted, come sundown, he can transform back into a robot up until the moment the first rays of the sun rise over the hills in the morning.
And so Starscream spends weeks like this at the lake in the company of Optimus Primal and the Maximals. He is not exactly happy, and he wishes for nothing more but to return home and dedicate himself to his studies, but alas it's not in the cards.
That is until one day a handsome prince (Skyfire) finds his way into the forest. Just like Starscream the prince is an explorer and scientist at heart and often ignores his royal duties to instead study the fauna and cyberflora of Cybertron. And that is how the Prince one night sees Starscream seemingly bathing in the lake, the moonlight and stars making the seeker's frame and the lake shine like polished diamonds. Skyfire approaches Starscream and as you know how the story goes: They fall in love deeply.
Skyfire begs Starscream to come to the royal ball at the palace tomorrow, and oh with Skyfire's sweet smile how could Starscream deny the shuttle this wish?
Soon after the prince had left, Starscream runs over to Optimus Primal, begging the king of the lake if there truly is no way to break this curse. After all how is he ever gonna be able to live happpily ever after with Skyfire if he is stuck in the body of a bird during the day.
That is when Primal reveals that there is indeed one way to break the curse, but no one had managed to do it yet. But with the help of Prince Skyfire Starscream might just be able to do it. In order to break the curse the Prince has to declare his eternal love for Starscream to the world.
But unfortunately a certain spider had been listening in on their conversation and returns to Megatron to report. Megatron instantly begins scheeming. He cannot let Skyfire declare his love to Starscream, for this would not only break the curse over the seeker himself but it would free everyone at the lake that Megatron had ever cursed and Optimus would return to rule over the entire forest just like before. And so Megatron uses his magic to make Black Arachnia look just like Starscream.
And you know how the story goes from here. As Starscream is still waiting for nightfall to break in, Black Arachnia goes to the royal ball disguised as Starscream and dances with the prince, tricking Skyfire into declaring his undying love at the ball to her and not Starscream himself. Starscream witnesses this and heartbroken he returns to the lake, ready to die of grief by its shore. But at the same time Skyfire notices the trick that had been played on him and runs out of the palace towards the lake in an instant.
Skyfire finds Starscream on the brink of death and holds him close repeating over and over again that it's Starscream that he loves, and only him. That Starscream is his whole world.
And BOOM the curse is lifted. The inhabitants of the woods and Optimus Primal's curse also gets lifted and with new found power Optimus, with the help of Skystar and the maximals finally defeat Megatron once and for all.
And they all live happily ever after with Starscream and Skyfire now sneaking out of the castle together to study the wonders of Cybertron's nature together.
Thank you for sticking with me until the bitter end and I hope you enjoyed this AU! It's been swirling around in my brain for quiet a while now :) If you want to you can also imagine Dinobot and Optimus Primal as a background pairing in this but like Dinobot is such a giant Tsundere he'd rather be stuck as a Velociraptor for the rest of his days before he admits his crush on the king of the forest to the entire world
