Van's beef with Misty
I remember seeing this and being so excited and happy for them only for Van to be an absolute turd to Misty not five minutes later and make me rethink all the time I spent stanning her
But seriously though, whys is Van such a bitch to Misty?
I'm with her most of the time. Was with her when she came at Jackie, that was justified, and it was punching up. With her when she gave Travis tough love. Yes she was harsh but he needed to hear that and not wallow like Shauna.
Side note why didn't she have the balls to talk to Shauna like that? Was Jackie and Travis just easy targets she felt she could talk to like that but somehow Shauna out of the question? Was it because of her closeness to Tai? Anyway, not the point but it still bothers me.

Why is she picking on someone smaller than her?
Why is she making fun of someone who's already an outcast?
What does she hope to gain from that?
Why does she think she's entitled to be such a dick?
Hell, why do the other girls not stop her? Only Taissa seems to call her out but even that is performative. Taissa trying to smooth things over and be the politician she is and play all sides.
Why wont Natalie speak up for her though? Is she afraid of getting caught in the crossfires? Does she think it's just some catty bullshit, that's not a big deal, like Shauna and Mari's feud? If anything she should know better than anyone how much that shit stings because she was often the target of that kind of stuff, especially in the first season. That's a whole post of it's own though.
What really bothers me is Van's behaviour.
Like, in the first ep we see her catching strays by Ali. We see her blossom and be this sort of comedian and entertainer and that's cool. I genuinely loved Van, but this attention-seeking behaviour is going too far when she starts just being a dick for shits and giggles like this.
Like, doesn't she get enough from her audience of adoring fans? She needs to put Misty and others down to make herself feel better? Cause at this point she's going from class clown to just straight up bully and I don't like this regression. I hate it actually. I hope she shapes up, even though I doubt it, or at least redirects some of that to someone more deserving.
Like, if she was punching up I wouldn't have a problem with it, however she's reaching her peak and there's very few people she can target without making powerful enemies.
She doesn't have the balls to challenge Lottie or Nat right now, and can't come after Taissa, and it'd be taboo to go for Shauna cause of her whole victim mentality and the couple bad things that happened to her and the general pity that she's basking in. So she goes after Misty instead? At least come for Mari, coach ben, Travis, etc. Though even Mari's a stretch now, she has no real power and she's far more palatable this season.
I guess the best solution is to just stop being a dick but I don't see that happening any time soon.
