Was back at the fave place yesterday, had originally gone expecting to see Emma/Savannah, but to my surprise, Natalie was on Elphaba. And anyone who knows me, knows how much I love her Elphaba. (I still don’t know if i love her Elphaba more than Emma’s or not, they’re kind of tied but yeah don’t make me choose).
I took along their late Christmas presents, Savannah said she’d pass Emma’s on, and the two of them (and Carina who I also saw, but forgot to get a photo with) were all super adorable about their presents, and i’m so glad I could finally pass them on.
Then the show happened, NOMTW never ever fails to astound me, the purity that is Savannah’s voice is incredible, and throughout the show she just completely shines. And I adore what she brings to the role of Glinda (who is my fave character in the whole show). Her popular is hilarious, and always makes me laugh SO hard, and then she breaks my heart with Thank Goodness. She is heaven sent, i swear she must be.
Sometimes i forget how much I adore Natalie’s voice, the last time i went she was struggling with her voice, so the last time i saw her FULL power, was July. So when TWAI started yesterday, and that power comes out, chills, actual chills. She’s this little thing and then her voice is SO big, it amazes me. So idk if anyone has seen her recently, but I noticed her do this little thing in Popular, and it’s possibly my favourite little acting addition of hers, but after the first ballgown attempt, she crosses her fingers, squeezes her eyes close and starts mouthing “please work please work” and i just think it’s the cutest thing, her Elphaba willing on Galinda’s magic to work!!! Then, the most incredible DG i have ever heard from here, she’s suuuch a powerhouse. And finally got to see her with Oliver Savile, their chemistry is great and her ALAYM with him!!!! She’s started adding in these beautiful little riffs and really making it her own now and i was just so blown away (i’ll probably upload this audio later!) and NGD as ever was phenomenal, all the goosebumps!!!!
Soooo basically, everyone whos a Wicked fan, and has never seen Natalie Andreou as Elphaba, GET YOUR BUTT TO SEE HER ASAP, she’s a joy to watch on that stage.
