🔥fanfiction and fanart
It’s not real, and it doesn’t matter.
People like to compare it to international cultural phenomena like Jaws, but the fact of the matter is that even popular fanartists do not have that kind of audience.
Jaws was seen by millions the world over. It had an actual, tangible impact on the human race as a whole, partly because it preyed upon a fear many of us already possessed--the fear of a large, carnivorous creature stalking us in an environment we are not suited for.
VoreLover69′s weird porn stash is going to be seen by, like, ten people--and even if it reaches a larger audience than that, that audience is a drop in the bucket and is almost entirely comprised of grownass adults who are not going to be influenced into committing heinous crimes by weeb shit on the Internet.
You do not become a rapist, murderer, pedophile, stalker, any of those things because you read a dark fic on Ao3.
On the flip-side, just because fiction don’t real doesn’t mean you can’t personally be repulsed by it. There are things in fiction that I can’t stand; if someone talks about those things to or around me, I may just lose my head a little. I get panicky, I can even be legitimately triggered by some of those things. It’s up to me to curate my Internet experience, and to tell my friends, “Stop, that’s enough, you’ve gone too far.”
We have to be responsible for ourselves, but there is no shame in being uncomfortable, even triggered by dark content. You don’t have to like everything that crosses your dash just because you believe in a person’s freedom to create what they wish.
Thank God for this blog. As someone who's been endlessly harassed by SonAmy fans for not shipping the oh so mighty OTP or for not worshipping a certain pink needlemouse, it's nice to see someone call them out on their bullshit. Keep up the good work!
A mighty thank you right back at you, friend!
I’ve modeled this blog to primarily focus on the Sonic fanbase due to personal experiences and its known toxicity across the internet. It’s to serve an example of sometimes overlooked negative traits that weigh a fandom down and make it worse in the eyes of others.
Such as; Shipping for example. Extreme shipping. Shipping that takes over people’s lives and leaves them with nothing more to desire from the fandom or even their own lives. Creepy! Not to mention their obsessive need to protect their ship or character from anyone that dares to talk ill about them, who will be struck down along with any other character in their way!
...
Like... it’s fiction. Calm your angry OCs.
I tend to take a lot of things that are featured on the blog seriously. Sure, there could be a guy pretending to be extreme here or there but I’ve seen enough stuff the Sonic fandom did to the point I don’t know who’s real and who’s pretending anymore. Some tend to give off really bad implications or messed up traits too that I’d rather nip in the bud before anyone else gets hurt! It may come off as taking things too seriously to the point it’s laughable, but as I always say; Better safe than sorry!
The Sonic fandom pretty much hates me for trying to help people out and it’s a shame, because there is so much potential for a big family like there is for many other groups of fans out there. Usually, the bad side of the fandom is more vocal than the good but the Sonic fandom is a rare example where most fans who are vocal tend to be the bad ones! I’d like to help these people realize that they’ve done a whoopsie and maybe we can all be friends again.
Or at least ignore each other. That seems more likely.
Thank you though, you have no idea how much anonymous hatred I need to filter through every day. Hahaha!
Catch you later!

@natarisaru oh I know! I used to use DA before tumblr. They were insane on there. But that was a long time ago. I can imagine it got worse right?
That's also the small stuff like sending death threats and harassing the crew online until some privated their accounts or go inactive all together.
Most of the time I hear shit from twitter. Hence why I rarely use it. It's easier to block it out and enjoy the show on it's own.
There's other sites too. Some where I found people trying to find someone to blame for modern spongebob and suggesting which person on the crew should they go after for the current seasons of spongebob.
Its better to stay away. But its also the reason why I've grown to prefer to be less critical of spongebob. Like the whole kamp koral thing. Back in the day when I didn't know Stephen approved of it. I feel bad for writing out my criticisms for it. Yeah they might be harmless criticism like some issues here and there. But with something that's such a hot topic. It can fuel someones rage and actually take action.
I don't want to contribute to the flame of anger that's largely misunderstanding and accidentally encouraging someone to take their anger out on the crew. Kamp Koral was handled terribly and I hate what it caused for a lot of the lovely people who work on the SB crew.
People want something to pin their anger on for the latest seasons. You can't make them accept it. But I don't want to even mention it and accidentally throw gasoline on their sparks of anger.
I don't know much about the ship wars but yeah. I guess that's customary on the internet. Still its shitty. I'd rather stick with tumblr and what we have here.
