I'll be honest. I don't think any DC movie director has the patience right now to commit to covering the 10+ in-movie-universe years required to successfully adapt and portray the batfam. Like it's just not happening. We are not getting all the batkids introduced in a liveaction dc movieverse in a way that follows a character-accurate timeline.

By which I mean they can't have Dick start Robin older than age 13 (because rebooted comics making him a teenager is heretical and I refuse to stand for it) but they also cant introduce Damian until Dick is in his early twenties (because their relationship depends on it I don't make the rules) and they also need to give Jason enough screentime as Robin to make his death count (in a way that doesn't assassinate his original goddamn character as Robin) but they also need to have him be dead for long enough that it mimics how impactful his actual death was during the comic run (he was dead for 20 irl years and it SHOWS) and Babs needs to be Batgirl for at least as long as Dick is Robin but she needs to be Oracle by the time Stephanie and Cass and Tim are introduced and Cass needs to have 1-2 years where she's Batgirl but not Bruce's daughter just like Tim needs to have 2-3 years where he's Robin but not Bruce's son–

I could go on, but tldr; the Battinson universe should just bite the bullet and have a multiverse plotline in the very last movie. Where Battinson visits a universe where he has 4-12 kids all protecting Gotham together and then he goes back to his universe and adopts a recently orphaned acrobat and that's the end of the Battinson universe movies. Yeah that's basically the only hope I have for batfam in a major dc universe live action movie.

Between "Rocky Road to Dublin" and "Your Idol" 2025 is shaping up to be the year of 'yes I would get eaten by a demon if their song was catchy enough'. can't overstate how fast I'd be outside/on the stage in both scenarios

can I say something. sections of Heated Rivalry are shot and scored in a way that 100% on the target absolutely hits the vibe of 2000s-era indie teen movies. this is not important except that it is important because so much of this show is targeted to do as much damage as possible to gay millennials. anyways i'm going to rewatch the driving scene in episode 6 again

Extremely unpopular opinion. But we are not getting anywhere trying to get young men to conform to our ideals of perfect self-awareness and emotional intelligence. And drawing boundaries about what ‘we shouldn’t have to explain’ or what ‘we shouldn’t have to hold their hands to make them understand’ is all about protecting your peace and sense of moral superiority and nothing about actually enacting change and guiding people to become allies and not aggressors

It doesn’t matter if it’s fucking stupid from our perspective that someone almost went right wing because people ragged on him for using the phrase ‘score women’. The response to that shouldn’t be ‘wow fucking idiot how could you not have understand that those negative responses were validated by societal oppression and taken it like a champ’. The response should be ‘thanks for the feedback. It’s important to understand the mindset of young men if we genuinely want to stop the alt right pipeline’.

I’m just. It literally doesn’t MATTER if your enlightened self finds the reasons young men go alt right stupid. We are in damage and prevention mode. We do not have the luxury to turn our noses up at people who weren’t born in tumblr discourse and react to being dunked on and yelled at by retreating to the other side. I understand where all the arguments that are like ‘we shouldn’t have to explain that women are people. We shouldn’t have to explain empathy’ come from. But it literally doesn’t matter! We do have to explain this, we do have to be patient and understanding with those people who are earnestly asking questions and willing to learn. Activism means doing hard things that we’d rather someone else be doing. We don’t have the luxury to expect someone else to do this work

if anyone is actually serious about doing something about the young men getting pulled to the right, actually listening when they explain why they did and taking that as actual constructive feedback on outreach and prevention methods is pivotal. No matter how stupid you think their reasons are
