Since I just saw the film the other night, for consideration: a Princess Mononoke AU for DemoSniper / Swordvan

Sniper is San, for obvious reasons. The man learned to survive with a new family in a very inhospitable environment and just hates humans in general.

Demo is Ashitaka. Prince of a foreign land who ends up cursed? Yeah, that tracks. Extra bonus if it’s not his arm that was cursed by the demon god, it’s his eye.

Engie is Lady Eboshi. Generally friendly and cares about people? Sure. Great with iron? Yup. Will open fire at a god if it gets him what he wants or needs? Ohhh, yes.

Ok but “Right-hand-man of the main villain falls deeply in love with one of the heroes and ends up helping them when they need to even if it goes against their boss” is such a niche type of shipping dynamic / trope but GOD DANG if it isn’t a GOOD ONE

So while at work I randomly thought up the title of an episode called Phantom of the Op-Warners (pronounced “Warnas”), and as a musical theater fan, I am absolutely DELIGHTED by this.

Gimme ideas of what happens.
