send a 👫 and i’ll write four headcanons i have about our muse’s relationship: @nananathanb
for eight years in a row they had matching summer jobs. they scooped ice cream, served popcorn, handed out arcade prizes. much like her penchant for changing hobbies, thte jobs shifted as soon as the workload tipped the balance from fun to actual work. it’s made for a very creative resume, but maybe the one that resulted in the work ethic that the two of them bring to their current jobs. if only the speedster’s owner would forgive their sins of the past and let them work the track together, the magic would be back.
freshman year of college, they were placed in a coed dorm. with only a floor apart from each other, it was the closest they’ve ever lived. the nights were filled with snacks and gaming, and not a whole lot of homework. even when they got kicked out by ruby’s roommate who insisted that she needed sleep for finals, the two camped out in the second floor lounge. what was the point of all that freedom, if you didn’t use it to the mot reckless of your abilities?
she wanted nathan to come backpacking with her more than anything in the world. she thought it would be their biggest adventure yet. and she didn’t flinch from her plans, boarding the plane with nothing but her travel pack and hoping he would join. sometimes, she thinks that if he had come with, she might not have flinched and moved back to carroll when her parents asked her to. there are plenty of odds jobs to be found on the coasts of europe. but, nothing beats walking over to the grocery store and seeing her best friend there.
alongside the journal of r&n development (which is a black composition notebook), she also keeps the journal of great! ideas! (which is a red spiral notebook). in it, she jots down all the different ideas that she has for nathan’s web comic as they comet o her at work. she doesn’t expect any of them to be used, she’s pretty sure nathan could write a whole brilliant series without her input. but, it’s her way of showing that she’s always keeping up with his latest updates and she cares about the characters as though they were her own.
