This is Nathaniel Cross, combat medic and rescuer from the Vigil

He used to be a sweetheart, and had a strong connection with the goddess Dwayna, but after getting tricked by a woman with ill intent he lost it, and now he is a bitter angry man

He feels like he has lost himself and for a while roamed the deserts of Elona in a quest of forgiveness and redemption, learning the secrets of the firebrands

He's now back in the Vigil as a medic, but now instead of healing in the backline a he is always in the front, scorching his enemies with the purifying flames of her goddess

In the end, if the enemy is dead, it can't hurt your troops, right?

Cross & Associates, part of the World Renowned Charles Financial Group, usually has successful ventures.  But it has not been going in one investment.  Magic Mirror-Mazada Studios, the film company owned by the CFG, was not performing well.  It has not recoverd well from the post-war slump.  Still a relative newcomer and partially shun due to picking up Edison's rights and mantle, Triple M needed help.  That is why Nathaniel Cross, President of the C&A was enroute to an appointment with a man who could surely help the studio.  A man known the world over.  It was September 1924, a month after Gold Rush was released.  It's start would be the key to keep those pictures moving.  Charlie Chaplin.  The limo pulled up to the gate of Chaplin's studio.  Instead of his chauffer doing the talking, Ol' Nat rolled down his window and said to the guard, "Nathaniel Cross, President of Cross & Associates and head economic prospector of the Charles Financial Group.  I have an appointment with Mr. Chaplin on behalf of Magic Mirror-Mazda Studios."

"Wait one moment sir," the guard says and he picks up the phone.  "Hopefully Mr. Chaplin isn't busy."
