  if he was quite honest , vlad hadn’t expected either nadas or sirius to accept his invitation to sibiu to spend some days of the yuletide . it was during the height of the christmas markets , and part of him greatly wished for these men like family might enjoy the season as much as he did . though relishing in it for quite different reasons , a former pagan holiday was still pagan , in essence . he had invited nadas into his dining room , a lavish spread of a meal with romanian and even gujrati dishes mixed among the fare . it was colorful , and garnished with spices and foodstuffs purchased from the grand bazaar in istanbul . 

  ‘ come , come , nadas -- there is much i wish to know of yours and sirius’ life since we’ve spoken last . amani will join us , shortly . ‘

@nathdar yeah honestly I entirely agree with you re Maric, Cailan's issues with reality and views on heroism are obviously related to his upbringing. Not sure about the no win situation though, he seems pretty sure that he'll win and get his glory, and if he's not are we looking at some idk, search for glorious death by battle? Seems dubious to me even if it would be IC, only he's just... Too young and hopeful? To get there yet. He looks like an overexcited golden retriever a lil out of touch with reality tbh

I am very certain that I have forgotten people but for now I’ll just keep these names. You are here either because your presence in the dash is of absolute sweethearts or because your writing is incredible, or because I love plotting with you, maybe I don’t do as often anymore because of whatever reason. THE REVERBERATING, HEAVY STEPS RESOUNDING from the soles of Maxson’s boots filled the silence therein. Particles of dust were kicked up, swirling around in the streams of yellow lighting that poured into the cell that held the scientist captive for a time he more than likely lost count of. Days, weeks--months or more even. There was by no means an end in sight, and certainly no hint at if or when his cell would creak open and allow his release back into a world he assisted in issuing a death warrant for.

There was a click and a high pitched screech that filled the room, signifying the opening of a door, to which was left open. Within the framework of the cell’s entrance did Arthur stand, imposing as ever.

“Rise,” he rumbled, arms folding at the base of his spine before turning a heel and expecting the other to follow, “we will speak of the means of your release into the confines of the Brotherhood’s supervision."

          And suddenly, he was free... to an extent. But what           were rules for if not to know one’s freedoms?
