Once upon a time, a #Victorian cast iron #fountain was built in honour of the #nationalbard, #rabbieburns on Dalkeith's High Street near the junction with South Street to mark the #centenary of his #death in 1899. The fountain stood the test of time though started to show its age with fountain bowl and chrerub lost and that lantern on top too, the whole thing having been relocated a few times down the years. It was then restored and relocated on the south end of #Dalkeith High Street earlier this year and looks great.
