The cool thing about being an indigenous person in Academia is that I don't need your academics to validate my knowledge. My lineage does that. My family does that. My Elders do that. Our over 10 thousand years of history, medicine, relational ways, do that. We have our own sovereign systems and have had them for longer than any university has been built anywhere in the world. You want our knowledge written down on a paper? sure, we can do that, first author too. But we do not depend on your papers and books to learn and Academia will never be the primary source and authority over us. I don't chase academic validation, I don't see "academic production" as status and I don't work for your capitalist circus. I work for my own people.
