I was thinking about it last night and I had this whole idea of Nat being Lottie private chef. Lottie is a closeted very popular actress married to that one co-star that everyone ship her with (Travis) and with Nat she discover that's okay to be gay ig???

Nat vlog her day as private chef and one day Lottie (still in her closet and married to travis) can be seen and people ship them idk idk idk (Lottie is seen as this cold actress but she's very warm with Nat)

alright I lied one more thing before bed, Natalie and Lottie meeting in their dorm room for the first time!!

The dorm room smelled like industrial carpet cleaner and dust, the kind of scent that clung to your clothes long after you left. Natalie dropped her duffel bag onto the lower bunk with a thud and exhaled like she’d just finished a marathon. In a way, she had– between the guild briefing and the six-hour bus ride, she was running on nothing but caffeine and spite.

Her new roommate was already there.

The girl stood in the middle of the room, dark-ish skin catching the thin strip of sunlight leaking through the blinds. She was unpacking carefully– too carefully– lining up glass jars in a neat row on her desk. Natalie’s tired brain clocked at least three mason jars, lids screwed tight, with something… furry inside.

“Uh,” Natalie said. “Are you making jam or…?”

The girl froze, shoulders stiff, and then turned around with the kind of smile that was more teeth than ease. “No. No jam. I’m– um– Lottie.”

“Natalie,” she said, raising a hand in lazy acknowledgment. She nodded toward the jars. “So what’s with the… dead things?”

Lottie blinked once. Twice. Then, too quickly, “Taxidermy club.”

Natalie stared. “That’s… a thing here?”

“Yes.” Lottie bobbed her head like she was trying to convince herself. “Very real. Invitation-only. We meet in… the biology building. Basement.”

Natalie snorted and flopped onto her bed. “Okay, sure. Guess everyone’s got a hobby.”

Across the room, Lottie let out a breath like she’d just defused a bomb. She turned back to her jars, adjusting them so precisely they formed a perfect straight line.

Natalie dug around in her bag for a cigarette she wasn’t allowed to light indoors. Her eyes flicked back to her roommate. Tan under the fluorescent lights, eyes a little too sharp, posture stiff like she’d never been in a dorm before.

Weird, Natalie thought. Definitely weird.

But the guild had told her to keep an eye out for real monsters: feral vampires blending in with the student body, blood-drained corpses turning up behind the library dumpsters, that kind of thing. Not a nervous taxidermy nerd who probably spent Friday nights hot-gluing raccoons back together.

Natalie pulled out a lighter and spun it idly between her fingers. “Well, Lottie-from-the-basement-club, word of advice– if you’ve got more of those things, don’t stick ’em in the mini-fridge. I’m not drinking squirrel juice by accident.”

The jar in Lottie’s hand wobbled dangerously before she caught it, fingers tightening around the glass. “…Noted.”

She gave another too-wide smile, the kind that didn’t quite reach her eyes, and Natalie leaned back on her pillow. Roommate assignment could’ve been worse. At least this one wasn’t blasting country music or hanging Bob Marley posters.

Besides, a little weird was fine.

Natalie had monsters to worry about.

But you’re holding me like water in your hands.” If I can’t have you I’ll be you instead. You see the best in me and I hate you because I see the worst in me. We are inextricably tied together but I am gnawing at the rope like a dog. I’d rather kill myself than be without you. I’d rather kill both of us than most things. “If I can’t be the love of your life I’ll be the loss of your life instead.”

So Lottie bowed to Nat and put her forehead to Nat's hand when Lottie made her Antler Queen. In a previous episode we saw adult Nat bow to adult Lottie in a similarly reverant way, and at the same time Lottie hallucinates her shadow self as having antlers iirc.

Did Lottie in that moment believe she was retaking the Antler Queen mantle, lifting the weight from Nat since she was the one who'd placed it there to begin with? I feel like that scene is another one that was really recontextualized after seeing the finale.

I have seen both moments in gif form but I don't have them and I'm not a gifmaker, so oh well I think I got my point across lol
