"[Miracles are] the extraordinary work of God that involves His immediate and unmistakable intervention in the physical realm in a way that contravenes natural processes." - Phil Johnson
People don’t want to see red dye used in TV for sanitary products for menstrual products is for the same reason they don’t use yellow and brown stains/dye for diaper commercials.
For the same reason, they don’t use yellow or brown for toilet paper commercials.
For the same reason, they don’t tend to show the bloodiness and messiness of labor and giving birth on TV.
All of these things are natural to happen. It is gross. It’s natural, but also pretty gross. That’s fine. Things our bodies do can be both natural and gross. Gross doesn’t mean unnatural.
So this very nice Sunday morning, there was a deer walking down the street and I managed to get two half decent pictures of it
And like these are fine, they sure are phone camera pictures.
But what pisses me off today and about this situation, is that I got three pictures.
And the third picture is objectively the best like, photograph.
EXCEPT THAT THE DEER STARTED PISSING THE NANOSECOND I LINED UP THE PICTURE!

unBecoming
The human relationship with nature is a tenuous one. We are at once a part of the natural world, yet intentionally set apart from it. We build walls to keep nature out, and when we decide we want to enjoy it, we bring nature in little by little, in pots, and cages still to maintain that distance. I am interested in this disconnect; our refusal as a species to admit that we, too, are animals.
Artist Statement
rstanding the interconnectedness of all living things on our planet is essential as we accept the reality that we are living at a vital precipice in history; a time when our very livelihood as a species requires a massive healing of our relationship to the earth and all its inhabitants. As an individual artist, I feel that the best way to portray these macro connections is through shared personal experiences in micro environments. Specifically using the symbol of the human (and animal) body as microcosmic mirror of our planet, our Mother Earth.
Considering earth as mother has a history of both enlightened and pointedly problematic reaction. Personally, this association has made me question the very archetype of the Mother and the idea of maternal energy as an embodied, not necessarily biological, experience. As a woman who is not a mother, I’ve recently realized that my practice approaches the maternal in abstract and unexpected ways. I want to delve into this idea of Redefining the Mother Archetype with more intent and focus.

The Music of Nomography – Laurence Hewes’s & Herbert Seward’s ‘Design of Diagrams for Engineering Formulas’ and John Cage’s scores
Laurence Hewes’s and Herbert Seward’s manual on the design of nomographs, published in 1923, is an unintentional masterpiece of analogue calculation aesthetics. The topologies and contours of these charts echo the systems they encapsulate. Fluid lines plot the parameters of hydrodynamic flow. Arcing parabolas delineate ballistic trajectories. Most lead double lives as (unperformed) musical scores. …
Pretty amazing stuff here. John Cage never ceases to amaze me.
