Jim Brandenburg, a photographer and wolf enthusiast, has the opportunity of a lifetime as he travels to Ellesmere Island to photograph a pack of Arctic Wolves. He follows their everyday activities and forms an everlasting bond with this group of animals.

With all the despair and hate in the world, I really needed to read something about the joys of life. This book did that terrifically. Quite a large book, Brandenburg’s photography is phenomenal and moving as I got to see wolves of different stages in life. Then, along with all the photos, to read his story about connection, respect, and wonder really did move me. I feel like I read the book in the right place and right time.

The only reason I didn’t give it five stars is just because of some outdated information since the book was published in the late 1980’s.
