All he could see was scarlet, no matter how much he blinked. Etched into someone's lips, dripping from someone's eyes. Their safety had been breached and it was still taking time for Elijah to realize that Fall City was compromised. He considered spores being inhaled deeply into the lungs and polluting the body before Hunter had time to react. Then it spread for those around him had been unsuspecting. Until he hit the ground. Dead.
None of that mattered now, not entirely. Elijah massaged his temples briefly and pushed himself off the wall he had been leaning against. He couldn't remain idle. He couldn't crack, though the longer he thought about it, the more he realized he hadn't been feeling much at all since the incident. It happened. He reacted. He was in the Community Center with a handful of others.
"Do you need anything?" He asked then. Idle minds meant dead minds, especially for himself, when the darkness of the situation at hand was eager to sink its teeth into his flesh.
