Lemons lay scattered in droves across his deck, the sheer amount of which Kid knew he and his crew had not picked up from the last island they had been on.

Just coming up on deck left his crew tripping over the damned things! Some even spilled over the edge where the railings could not contain their citrus mass any longer. He could feel his lips puckering up and he didn’t even eat one yet! Something was not right about this whole mess and he was going to get to the bottom of it... In fact, it felt all too familiar for his tastes.

"I wouldn’t keep her as one of my closest aides if I didn’t trust her, now would I? Nova is relatively new but so far she has proved herself in leaps and bounds, her word as genuine as any promise. She has every reason to dislike me but so far hasn’t gone against my word or tried anything underhanded, only carrying out every order to the best of her abilities. I trust her moderately well, to give an honest opinion even if I might not always like what I hear.”

Does my muse dislike yours?

"Not particularly, no. Hatooiens aren’t exactly held in the highest regard by the World Government but Nova has so far been a surprisingly pleasant woman to know. I expected her to be a bit of a beast at first if you must know, but so far she’s quiet and well-behaved, with no unlikeable qualities or habits.”

Would my muse kill someone for yours?

"That would depend entirely on the situation and who it happens to be? In most circumstances, I would gladly shoot anybody who dares threaten my property and possessions, which do include worthwhile servants. Nova is worth far more than any run-of-the-mill slave due to her... unique qualities, so naturally I would seek to protect her above most others. Were another Celestial Dragon attempting to abuse her however, I would be unable to kill them - though they wouldn’t be immune from certain repercussions, to put it lightly.“

"It’s always a shame to get rid of a decent servant, especially one that happens to be so rare and precious. Hatooiens have long since been a troublesome species throughout recorded history but to kill her would be like killing off the last member of a unique species, a regrettable deed regardless of past actions. I would ultimately prefer to avoid harming her unless provoked and so far, Nova has exceeded expectations with her behaviour. I bear no ill-will towards her as an individual so long as that fact remains true.”

"In a way, I already have. Hatooiens face certain discrimination due to their racial qualities in possessing illegal knowledge regarding the Void Century and beyond, so it is by our grace that she has been allowed to live a most comfortable life under our merciful supervision. Nova is afforded as much protection as a most esteemed servant can be given, her wisdom and knowledge valued so long as she continues to behave and follow our commands.”

"She’s not grotesque, if that’s what you’re asking? Nova may be a different species from that of humans but she is beautiful in her own way, looking almost like a living marble sculpture, believe it or not. Her features rival that of even the most beautiful women out there and her appeal stands out even more due to her albinism. She’s attractive in that ‘ethereal’ sense so it’s hard to explain, but she can indeed be considered stunning by many.” 

Is my muse disgusted by yours?

"No particularly, no. Nova may be a Hatooien but she is sensible and wise, not to mention well-spoken. She is quite the special woman who is a joy to keep close by our side...”

"It might not be considered a ‘date’ exactly, but Nova would be allowed to take place at my side acting as a royal aide. She may accompany me and enjoy certain comforts and privileges during whatever venture we happen to be visiting for she can be trusted to act responsibly and maintain decent public image at all times.”

"Ah... no. Not only would it be most inappropriate for a multitude of reasons, Nova is a female servant and to kiss her would be a gross infringement of noble status. I will ask no more of her than I already do and accept the fact that her body remains her own regardless of her servitude.”

"No, I would not. Nova has done everything I’ve bade of her without question or complaint, thus giving me no reason to ‘betray’ her. She is an obedient woman who has carried out every command without fault so it is beneficial to keep her as happy and compliant as possible to ensure her continued loyalty. So long as she keeps behaving, I will be a lenient mistress and allow her moderate free reign along with the rest of her people out there...”

"Her intelligence and observation, which at times can aggravate me just as much as it impresses too? Thankfully Nova always brings up her concerns in private, never airing her thoughts openly which could get back to others such as my father who wouldn’t nearly be so understanding. I appreciate how she is always so flawlessly polite and attentive, but also willing to speak up and voice her honest opinion when necessary. Only a fool would be content to keep the company of yes men alone and listen only to what they want to hear.”

"Nothing in particular. Nova is a perfect role model and has acted accordingly regardless of every situation she has faced. So far there has been nothing to dislike about her personally whatsoever.”

      The black winged boy stood staring at her tail, almost unblinking with burning red eyes while his back flaked with tiny wisps of steam. Being around him alone made the area warm. A radius around him of pure warmth. He thought he’d get hotter with age, he even remember barely when he was much much younger, the fire that over him. It hurt, it hurt so much. Almost as much as when his own wings were poking through his back. That time had passed, and yet the pain remained--baked endlessly into his memory. He wondered if that’d even fade.

      Curiosity continued, did it hurt to have that tail? 

      He blinked a few times suddenly at the question, his big black wings twitching a few times before they spread out then folded back, flustering in their movements as he tried to think, taking a small step back.
