Homestuck Meetup
The meetup will be hosted at William B. Umstead Park. Which is located in Raleigh, North Carolina at 8801 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh, NC 27617.
The meeting begins at 10AM and ends at 3PM. Of course, it isn’t required there to be that long. If you’re going to be coming early, or a little late, feel free to go on and ask me for my contact information and I would be more than happy to escort you towards the group when you arrive.
We will be having a picnic here! So please bring food for you, and hopefully for others. A general list of things that you could bring are:
Snacks (chips, cookies, crackers)
Drinks (soda, juice, water, faygo)
Paper plates,cups, napkins
Or anything else that you think the group might enjoy, that won’t spoil the second it sees outdoors. Please try and keep a list of the ingredients within foods so we don’t have an allergic emergency on our hands. All foods need to be covered/closed properly. Be prepared to have to hold onto trash if we’re not near a trashcan.
We will begin eating at eleven or twelve. There are picnic areas where we can have our lunch, but there are no guarantees that we will be able to snag them, so please be prepared to eat in grass.
During the meetup we will be playing games like charades and headbands, or anything else we may think of. Feel free to bring your own kind of games! Please keep everything PG-13 and don’t do anything inappropriate. If you are caught making a guest uncomfortable after being told to stop you will be ejected from the group immediately, no if, ands, or butts. Do not break any of the park rules, either.
The meetup is for all ages, but anyone under the age of 13 should have someone escorting them, even if they aren’t at the group at all times.
On the note of cosplay, it is allowed, but definitely not required. I only ask that you don’t bring any prop that’s awkward or heavy to carry. Horns aren’t allowed if they’re any bigger than the height of your hand. It’s a wooded area, you don’t want to get taken out by a branch because your horns are too big!
And since the area is fairly wooded, I recommend that you bring bug spray and sunscreen.
If you would like to make a reservation, please go ahead and message me! Reserving your spot helps me keep track of everyone, and therefore I will be able to know whether I need to wait for you or not. It’s not required, of course.
However, if for some reason the weather doesn’t permit for the meeting (heavy rain, snow, freezing temperatures) then it will be cancelled, and won’t be rescheduled for a later date. I will have on my blog the day of the meetup as to whether or not the meeting will take place.
