So because of this whole ship meme going around and nearly no one shipping Nott with anyone other than Yeza my brain dropped down a rabbit hole and landed on Neau.

Now hear me out I have this great AU idea. So say Veth's parents notice she's having issues with her brothers and other people in town and so the send he off to live with some family, distant or close, that live off in Kamordah. A shy, quiet Veth keeps to herself until this pretty well-to-do girl speak to her in Halfling. It's slow going on both of their ends but eventually they're both getting up to no good, egging one another on further and further. They're picking pockets, stealing mail, and eventually smuggling alchohol for Tori.

Beau opens up a bit about not wanting to be so dressed up all the time and not wanting to be so girly. And gosh isn't Tori just great? And Veth shares her odd collections and her fears that she's just Not enough. But all "feelings" conversations are soon abandoned for some roughhousing.

Now you can bet they are both crushing HARD on Tori and on each other. And maybe Beau still gets the girl, maybe she doesn't, but they're all in each other's pockets until The Bust happens.

They scatter like they're supposed to, and Veth, even with all her buttons and bright colors, nopes right the fuck out of there, but doesn't notice that Beau and Tori are caught. Tori's disappeared, Beau's shipped off to the Cobalt Soul, and Veth is sent back to Felderwin to be safe from all the crime.

But Felderwin is boring and slow. And when her brothers are acting boorish she just kicks them where it hurts. Suddenly there's Yeza and he thinks she's funny and interesting, he also says she's pretty but she's seen Beau and Tori and knows he's just being flattering. Soon however they're engaged and she wants to invite Beau and she wants to invite Tori but Tori's vanished and all Veth's letters to Beau have been returned unopened, let alone getting a answers to the hidden thieves cant within. So once again she's just Not enough for someone she cares for.

Veth is married and quickly after Luc is on the way, but things are still boring and she's restless. Yeza teaches her everything he's learned as a potion maker(sorry forgot the word), and she helps run his shop but she cant help thinking of all the adventures that she and Beau and Tori had planned. She and Yeza talk and she tells him. Yeza is fine with the way things are, not an adventurous halfling, unless he's experimenting, but he'd support her wholeheartedly once their little one was here and grown a bit. He only wants to see her happy.

The worst happens when shortly after their Luc is born and goblins raid Felderwin. It shouldn't have been so bad, the goblins shouldn't have been so successful, but she and her boys are taken. The goblins don't kill them, but she doesn't know what they want and they've been there so long she's worried Luc wont make it. Eventually the time comes and they make their escape but the goblins are too close on their tail so she shoves Luc to Yeza and makes them run as she taunts and lures the goblins away, channeling as much of her time with Beau as possible.

Veth kills the goblin chief and when the chief's wife has her drowned, she regrets she won't be there for Luc, but she mostly regrets that she didn't try harder to follow Beau. She doesn't expect to wake up, and she definitely doesn't expect to be anything other than herself, but now she's Not. She's Nott.

It takes a while but she escapes once more and then she's in jail because she couldn't keep her sticky fingers away from some man's shiny cane, she's lucky she wasn't just killed. And there she meets a skinny dirty wizard man and they become each other's support. For a while it's just the two of them. And she cares for him and he cares for her, but they aren't quite enough to survive long term.

And soon theres Beau, and Jester, Fjord, Molly, and Yasha, but most importantly Beau. She's a little older and her hair is so different and she finally looks comfortable in her self and body. And Veth is Nott so she keeps he mouth shut.

And that's what I've got, but I ship Neau so hard now.
