James Scurlock, a 22 year old black man, was peacefully protesting in Omaha last night before he was murdered. A GoFundMe has been set up for James’ family.

Black and Pink--a national grassroots network (with a branch in Omaha) that supports prison abolition and supports LGBT+ and HIV+ prisoners. They have a  bail fund for LGBT+ protesters. 

The Nebraska Left Coalition-- They set up a bail fund for protesters across NE. Make sure you put “bail” in the memo so it goes to the bail fund. If you message them they will get you in contact with free legal rep. (In Omaha alone over 140 people have been arrested the past three days.) Bail Number: 402-981-5553 

Lincoln Protesters Bail Fund-- a gofundme for protesters arrested in Lincoln.

James Scurlock’s Family-- James Scurlock was a peaceful protester in Omaha who was murdered by a white supremacist. This gofundme will support his family.

Elise Medical Expenses-- a protester in Lincoln was shot in the face with a rubber bullet and this gofundme is set up by her older sister to help pay the medical expenses.

A state of emergency has been set in Omaha (5/31) for 72 hours. It starts at 8 PM. Curfew will start at 8 PM and will last til 6 AM. No one is allowed in public spaces or on public streets. No gatherings of more than 25 people.  The National Guard has been deployed and will be working with OPD.

Omaha bar owner who fatally shot protester is evicted from downtown property

The property owners said neither The Hive nor the Gatsby would be allowed to open again in the space in the building near 12th and Harney Streets.

Gardner has been evicted from his property.

The owners of the downtown Omaha property in which The Hive bar operated said Tuesday that they have evicted the tavern operator, Jake Gardner. Contacted by The World-Herald, the property owners, who said they have been the target of threats, said neither The Hive nor the Gatsby would be allowed to open again in the space in the building near 12th and Harney Streets.

The building's owners said Gardner had not complied with terms of the lease. They said that he was late on payments and that there were “other issues.” They declined to provide further details.
