Pride month is here so please consider donating to Black and Pink, a national grassroots network (with a branch in Omaha) that supports prison abolition and works with LGBT+ and HIV+ prisoners to support them.
They also have a bail fund that will be helping LGBT+ folks, especially with the recent protests going on.
Heartland Pride is the Pride organization for the Omaha/Council Bluffs area. This year is the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots and is this year’s Heartland Pride theme.

June 28th: Youth Pride - free, at the Baxter Arena.

June 29th: Pride Festival - at the Baxter Arena. More info. Tickets can be purchased at the Baxter Arena box office, or online (Ticketmaster Fees Extra for online orders).
Free admission for outdoor festival grounds (including beer tent, food trucks, karaoke, outdoor games, and more).
General admission costs $12 for preorder, or $18 the day of. Festival tickets includes access to vendor exhibitions, kids corner, 18+ only area (on Holland Ice Rink), all shows in the arena and more.
$50 VIP Tickets include Meet-and-Greet with select performers, VIP parking, 2 free drink tickets, and VIP designated bar area (short lines). Must be purchased online.Only 275 available.
$75 VIP Tickets include Meet-and-Greet with 2019 Headliner, VIP parking, 2 free drink tickets, and VIP designated bar area (short lines). Must be purchased online.Only 25 available.
July 6th: Heartland Pride Fun Run/Walk - $10 for kids 5-12, $15 for everyone else. 2k or 5k, check in 7-9 AM. More info here.

The pride parade today was so fun, I was actually in it and it was fun handing candy out to all the little kids that were there, and just great to be around so many queer people 🧡

pride was pretty cool! like, there was a lady at one of the food trucks who was looking at everyone with not even thinly disguised disgust and someone tried to recruit me for a woman's group despite being literally covered in the trans flag and wearing a pin with my pronouns... but like there were lots of dogs which was cool
Pride
I went to my first pride today and even though I didn't stay long I felt a sense of comfort in being around people who are like me and people who support me because in my normal day-to-day life that isn't always the case, unfortunately. So thank you to all the lgbtq people out there that make this world a better happier place for us to live in. And thank you to our allies for supporting us and also making this world a better place and hopefully together we can make the future full of equality and acceptance!
The only downfall to going to pride...
not having someone to go with.
