sorta flimsy idea, but what if the necromansir was gifted the ability but the ability to revive his loved one is more of a sacrifice needed to continue? maybe his loved one doesn't DESERVE to be revived. like they had a double life or something?
Ohhhh! These almost feel like two separate ideas, but I really like where this is going!
On a softer route, it’s like he only gained the ability after his own lover passed. Like - the wisdom he takes to comfort others and therefore bring their loved ones back from the dead comes was gained only after his lover’s death.
Perhaps helping others move on is what helps the NecroManSir to move on himself? He must help others to help himself...
But at the same time, that may not totally account for why the people he helps get theirs back. I can get the idea of him helping other’s suffering and gaining no comfort of his own, but in the end, they don’t remember any of that comfort, because once their loved one returns, they forget!!
~
That brings me to your other idea, though, that perhaps his lover was not who he was led to believe and instead their loss was a sort of liberty for others? Hm...
Ahh, keep these NecroManSir ideas coming, y’all!!!
