Breaking the rules of my scheme to make this guy as gaudy as possible. He likes gold, and he wants you to know how important he is. Broken Warrior on the base is a left over from another project that I used a Sergeant Castus base for. I wanted to show the Resurrection Orb working so painted the innards glowing to match the Orb’s glow.

Necrothakht the Storm’s Thrall, former Phaeron of the Thaakht dynasty Necron Overlord, Sautekh dynasty 30-Jan-2022

A fantastic sculpt that kind of kicked the personal fluff for my army into being. He was forced to bend to Imotekh’s will after defying the Storm Lord’s bid for control of the Necrontyr, and earned himself the title of ‘Storm’s Thrall’ as a fun little trophy to anyone else that might consider doing so in the future. The paint job doesn’t quite convey the story though, I’ll want to do another version of him eventually - Magnetised for other loadouts - that better represents his former dynasty. Some freehand markings on him somewhere maybe.

Today's progress on painting the necrons from Indomitus! 👽💀 . Still trying out different rough techniques as I can't decide my prefer way to base the models. 🤔 . What do you think? Should I dry brush the whole thing is rough brass like image 1, or leave the plated sections as black like image 2? . I've still got a lot of minis to get through and test.
