This is Canada... inequality and the need for change
What upsets me in this country and no wonder we need change is the inequality of things.
Federal government has outlined new changes to benefits for the CERB and some new forms of EI ... and for those able to qualify for those and make use of them, I think that's great if it meets the need.
But what upset me, is the imbalance of things.
If you are on Regular or Sick benefits EI, you likely are receiving an amount of income far less than the money outlined in the other benefits. How is that equal or fair?
If you are a Senior and getting a pension, your amount may be far less as well. How is that fair?
If you are for various reasons are on Social Assistance and are a single person, depending on the province, the income is likely very less than those amounts. Monthly amount can be as little as $575. How is that fair?
If you were unemployed before Covid 19 hit, and the environment for your job has disappeared because of covid 19 but on a technicality you are not eligible for CERB, how is that fair? In my case personally, the job loss is enhanced by the lack of sufficient web high speeds because of where I live because remote jobs are available otherwise. How is that fair?
Parliament is Parogued until September 23, 2020. Word is Elections Canada are seeking 250 temporary workers... a Federal election on the horizon? You'd wonder.
New Brunswick has called one, but hints that it may be postponed... you'd wonder why. Some new changes on the horizon perhaps? Hmmm.
But no, these fields are hardly fair. The single worker barely scraping by financially, and not getting enough is hardly fair either. Food or rent, your choice. Nice.
Now you see why there may be a need for a universal income regardless of employment. Our capitalist society has robbed people, with the haves only getting richer and the have nots getting poorer.
There needs to be change. People too need to change, wake up from the hold our mainstream media and governments have on them and rise up and say no more.
They need to find their way back to their own faith, to our Father, our Lord and Saviour. They truly do.
I am grateful for what I have, but there are tremendous inequalities. People have been deceived and robbed by certain groups. It has to change.
Hopefully it will. I pray to God that it will.
