Festival Breif -
Finished packaging 🏅
Festival Breif -
Packaging design, I first started out with a paper prototype and then to cardboard more accurate to the size needed, still need to decide on overall design but think I might leave it simplier on the outside.
Festival Breif-
Two artist that inspired my festival breif were Camille Walala above and Morag Myerscough below.
Festival Breif -
For my product I’ve decided that I’d choose a reusable water bottle which prevents dehydration and litter so it’s very positive while advertising the festival year round, I’ve gonna with quite geometric look as I think it goes quite well with the festivals look.
Festival Breif -
Our new festival brief, design a product and packaging to send as a PR gift to influencers, here are my brain storms and thumbnails helping me to form my idea.
Narrowed my poster ideas to four gonna have to cut these then to one, I think the can crash is the best option with a clear image.
Viscom -
The start to the next four years, our new project is to design a poster for alcohol awareness.
Here are my thumbnails to begin.
These images are for a new brief on typographical design, here we had to choose three artists who’s designs we admired or found interesting, for mine I chose Peter Strain, Mario DeMeyer and Alex Trochut, their work had a really nice movement and were very creative in different aspects of there work.
Viscom Elective -
Our next brief was design fonts for our words that looked like what they mean without imagery.
These are my working images all the way to finished images at the end.
I didn’t like typography at the start but once I started to get the hang of it, it became much more injoyable.
Viscom Elective -
My two chosen fonts for our new brief.
My finished two posters for the words straight and bent.
Viscom Elective-
Narrowing down my thumbnails then to four and back down to two, to be brought on to my final posters.
Viscom Elective -
We were all given two words with opposite meanings as our first brief and asked to complete 24 thumbnails for each, to be used later in the project. The two words I got were straight and bent.
Animation Elective -
I start this Elective and I definitely found it daunting at the start, after seeing the group before mine. But as the second week began I started to understand and was able to wrap my head around it. I found the character design hard just not being sure what was good, the giant eyes were a mistake, I was trying to mimic the Disney design but failed, but gradually in the second week I got a design I liked and it was actually the design I like originally.
I found this a great elective and really liked the way my animation was turning out, although I never got it finished I would like to in the future.
Print Elective -
From first attempted lithograph down to monoprint also seaweed I printed.
Although I didn’t get a picture of the finished print you get the idea to the finished piece.
I really enjoyed the process of printing and all aspects of this elective, it’s gonna be hard to choose a disciple.
Sheepish
These photos came from a thought I had today “Do we ever realise we are following trends? Is our society brainwashed to think that if something*NEW or *IMPROVED comes out we NEED to buy it? “.
I suppose I mean is there a need to materialise things, can we take off our sheep masks to see the difference between wants and needs? Wants like being accepted, how relatable you can be, how much money you have or approval that dosent really matter?
I hope times change and people value the big things like the planet and the safety of others not what phone is popular now and how life’s not fair if you can’t get it, just see the bigger picture.
(I would have liked to take these photos in better lighting but I took them on my phone on snapchat so I could use the captions for effect, I feel the message still gets across though, I also wish I used this mask more it’s comical but real.)
Museum of Contemporary Art in KrakĂłw
While on a trip to Poland, I visited the Kraków contemporary art museum, it was insightful and I have to say some contemporary art is off the wall to say the least, although I had to keep in mind art I’d different too everyone.
Above there are some of the the works aswell as a small blurb of information, the one at the bottom “Elena” reminded me of the animation workshop I had attended the week previously, I found the cool the see an established artist in a museum who’s work looked similar to something I’d made.
It was a great museum filled with culture and incredible works, I would recommend.
