Speechlem is crude often insensitive, I mean well and care deeply for those I love and have loved. Most of you won't understand but I recently came from a different world than you. It was horrific to put it mildly. I often refer to it as the jungle, because I lived by the laws of the jungle: Only the strong survived. I survived but came out damaged,lost and misunderstood. I'm in your world now and although misunderstood, I'm just trying to relearn all that has been forgotten in the past 37 years that I spent in the jungle. I thank you for taking the time to correct me. I'm learning but bear with me. I truly am lost...

An Act of Abandonment

O my God, I thank you and I praise you for accomplishing your holy  and all-lovable will without any regard for mine.  With my whole heart,  in spite of my heart,  do I receive this cross I feared so much!  It is the cross of Your choice,  the cross of Your love.  I venerate it;  nor for anything in the world  would I wish that it had not come,  since You willed it.  I keep it with gratitude and with joy,  as I do everything that comes from Your hand; and I shall strive to carry it without letting it drag,  with all the respect  and all the affection which Your works deserve.  Amen.
