Cruella (2021) Movie Review

(Cause I guess I just do these???)

Watched the Cruella movie, honestly I saw some spoilers on this app beforehand but let me tell you this movie is beautiful. Not in a serious cinema way but just the way it just sits there and exists.

There are literally like 3 plot twists in the movie that just change the vibe and tone to another movie almost. Not to give too much away it’s like Maleficent, Oceans 8, and PG John Wick decided to have a PG13 baby that idolized Devil wears Parada.

The soundtrack is amazing and probably cost them a fortune. Since the setting is the 1970s in London a lot of rock and popular songs of the time are put in. Not a bad playlist and it didn’t interrupt the movie flow (at least in my eyes).

If I were to have any qualms with this movie it would be that sometimes its so dark that I feel like I’m watching a DC movie. Like I had to watch it in the dark because of how in some scenes there was like next to no lighting. As well, I wished Cruella just turned a tad more evil in the end. Like the ending wasn’t bad but it didn’t really end with a character that would have later wanted to skin puppies if you catch my drift. I have an idea on how they could have improved the ending but I’ll put that in another post.

Overall not the worst Disney remake out there.

this is actually slightly hard. i had an answer for this ages ago, and i forgot it. hmm. i'll go with taste. it's not one i hold as high as others, and i wouldn't be able to offend anyone or pretend to like their food if it's shit.
