I'm looking for a fic where 10's mind goes into TenToo's body after EoT, but it *isn't* the one by WhoMe. It's very long and I read it years ago. What I remember is that Rose has a really hard time accepting that he's literally the same person and that Jackie accepts it quicker. He hides away working on growing the new TARDIS. Eventually, they realize he has an extended lifespan and so does Rose (similar to WhoMe's fic, but not exactly the same).
Not sure… anyone else recognize this?
eta: Possibly the Fourteen ‘verse, by multiple authors on LJ?
#Trump…literally said denaturalization was on the agenda. #MAGA just means make America WHITE again hombre #leopards
From the comments:
"I was in Miami right before the election. Had an uber driver who didn't outright say he was a 🍊 supporter but it was easy to read between the lines. I wonder now what he thinks of all of this. He was super proud he did things the 'right' way. 🙃"

"It’s a mix of ignorance, bigotry, and fear. Many Cubans here blame communism and socialism for the state of their country without fully understanding its history. Even though the first waves of Cuban immigrants are aging or passing away, their offspring keep the narrative alive that socialism ruins lives. Yet, when they arrive in the U.S., they benefit significantly from our socialist-capitalist system.
What’s interesting is how newly arrived Cubans often undergo a sudden ideological shift. They might initially say they left Cuba because it’s poor, but before long, they’re loudly proclaiming their hatred for communism and socialism—positions they didn’t necessarily hold when they first arrived. It’s as if they’re indoctrinated upon arrival.
People need to understand that in Miami, Cubans occupy the social position that white people do in the rest of the U.S. It’s strange because not all Cubans are white, but here, being Cuban comes with certain privileges. If you’re a white person coming to Miami, you might get a small taste of what it’s like not to be at the top of the social hierarchy, and honestly, it’s amusing to watch. I’ve seen it happen more than a few times.
Because Cubans function as the “white people” of Miami, many don’t believe racism or bigotry applies to them. They’ll eagerly claim whatever distant African ancestry they have to argue that they “can’t be racist,” but in practice, they are. This pattern also exists among Venezuelans, though not as intensely as with Cubans. Many immigrants who assimilate into the stereotypical Miami Latin culture—shaped heavily by those who arrived in the ’60s—quickly forget that while they may look white, they’re not gringo white.
Your comment reminded me of an Uber ride I once had with an Afro-Cuban driver. It was a shared ride, so there was another passenger. At some point, politics came up, and the driver started trashing Trump and MAGA supporters. The other passenger was clearly upset—so much so that he asked to be dropped off early. He didn’t say a word the entire ride, but you could feel his discomfort. Meanwhile, the driver and I kept talking. I initially stayed neutral because you never know who you’re dealing with, and I wasn’t about to walk into a trap. But in the end, the Uber driver passed the “vibe check”—the passenger did not. It was hilarious. Hands down, the best Uber ride I’ve ever had. So they’re not all bad you can find some people with some sense in the wild in Miami."
