I just need to complain about FFXIV for a moment. If you don't want a rant about the game, please scroll on.

A friend got me into it, and I was like, "Okay, this isn't the worst MMORPG I've seen. It's kinda fun."

HOWEVER, locking MSQ behind a side-quest that needs 24 people in three separate units is the dumbest bullshit I've ever seen.

I've been grinding through the STUPIDITY that is 2.0, and I have hated every minute of it.

Discovering that I can't get to Ishgard without doing this stupid 24 person dungeon and other side quests legitimately just ruined my entire evening.

I play video games to relax. 2.0 is the opposite of that. It has only served to constantly piss me off.

If I'm not asking my FC for help on lvl 50 dungeons, I wait in queue for an hour every single time just to do a dungeon that I NEED to progress in the main game.

I very rarely rage quit video games. It's usually because of mechanics that I end up angry at a game in the first place (just really complex things that are near impossible to achieve), but I want to throw FFXIV 2.0 into the deepest pit of hell.

It's fetch quest after fetch quest for practically NO EXP. I honestly feel like I've wasted so many days grinding out these stupid things where I'm constantly going back and forth over and over again. Now I'm completely halted in forward progress because of this stupid ass game play decision.

JUST LET ME GO TO ISHGARD. I'm so tired of this bullshit.

This is not an enjoyable experience. It's making me wish I hadn't sunk real money into the game.

At this point, I've completely forgotten the story which is what people say they play the game for. I am not invested in any of these characters. I keep skipping cutscenes because they take 15 minutes minimum to get through anymore. I am bored out of my mind. They speak so slowly when they have voice lines, there's constant camera flipping between just to show you EVERY SINGLE PERSON BEING SURPRISED AT SOMETHING. I understood that from the first gasp! I am not stupid.

I'm just so tired and frustrated.

the chronically ill experience getting tested for various illnesses and whenever you say that you hope this one shows some results everyone says 'Why would you want to be sick?'

it's like they don't understand that I am already sick, I want to know what I have, how to treat it, and if it will effect my life expectancy. looking for a diagnosis is not going to the chronic illness store to buy a chronic illness.

I am so bitterly disappointed about the ticket buying experience for Star Wars Celebration 2027. I had talked myself into it, I don't do these sort of things for myself very often. But I've loved Star Wars since I was a child, and wanted to be there for the 50th anniversary.

I was on the website when tickets went on sale at 3pm eastern today. Right when they went on sale. I was placed in the queue and waited for 4 hours and 17 minutes. All the while the little message on the bottom of the page kept updating. 4-day passes gone. Saturday passes gone. Friday gone.

Then I find out from people who did get through that people were allowed to select up to 20 tickets per order. So of course now 4-day passes are on VividSeats for $1000 a pop.

It seems so silly to be so upset about this. But also, resellers suck and the companies that enable them suck too.

I just wanted to treat myself a little.

Hey guyyyys I’m backkk so um…

We got in a car accident on the way to church yesterday 🤩😍💖🌸

We’re not hurt or anything dw, but we got bumpered REALLY HARD, so hard that the car jerked up (WHERE I WAS SITTING)

Plus the first two dumbshiz💩 cops on the scene weren’t doing BEANS (all they were doing was yapping with each other like we weren’t sitting there in need of assistance!) so we got held up for like 2 whole hours and we were late to serve (I do children’s ministry with my mom) after all we went through to get up early and be there on time 🙄 (we got up at 4 IN THE MORNING!)

I wasn’t scared so much as freaked out with annoyance, but I was beside myself (in a bad way) all day (still am too)

And the guy who hit us had nothing on him. No phone, no ID, no insurance, no nothing. We almost felt bad. We let him use my mom’s phone (Dad held it up the whole time) to call his “wife” who was actually his gf, who decided to WALK THERE to come get him (we were on a HIGHWAY) and in the end I think he got busted for maybe possibly having 🌿“grass”🌿 in the car….

And also an ACTUALLY COMPETENT female cop finally showed up when my mom called the station and she got the report and let us go in like 5-10 minutes

ATTENTION PEOPLE WHO COMMISSION SMALL ARTISTS

I am all for supporting small artists whenever I can and I often have had wonderful experiences with small artists here on tumblr. However, the experience that I have had with “salibadati” has not been a good one. I am not claiming to speak on other people’s behalf. If you have commissioned her and have had a good experience, I’m happy for you!

She reached out to me back in March, asking if she could draw for me. Of course I want to support small artists whenever I can so I said yes! We discussed my commission, and prices. We agreed on $100 usd for it. (About $137 cad for me). Everything so far was going smoothly. But then came the badgering for more money. At that point I had paid for the commission in full and was also working on getting my old van fixed. A month goes by with no contact, I understand, life happens!

Then another two months pass. I sent messages beforehand being kind but clear that if she was not motivated to finish my commission, I would like a refund. Not an unreasonable request.

Fast forward to today, three months later. She reaches out to me saying that she forgot my commission. At this point I had given up entirely, but I remained polite as I understand that life can throw you curveballs. She showed me the picture she had started, then proceeded to ask me to tip her 10-20 usd ($13 and $27 cad respectively). And then again asked when I could commission her again. I was polite and said that I don’t know when I would be able to because as it is I am barely able to make my car payments and insurance as it is.

I can understand that life is hard as an artist and that the cost of living these days really takes the piss. But I don’t feel that that makes it right to take advantage of someone who just wants to support you, not contact them for months on end, and ask for more money.

I am not trying to trash on someone for no reason. I am simply sharing my experience as a bit of a PSA to anyone who supports or wants to support small artists.

Pure comedies are hit and miss for me. I don’t mind laughs just for laughs but it depends on the joke. If it’s at the expense of somebody, a minority especially, I don’t find it funny or enjoyable to watch it at all.

I tried so fucking hard to get into ‘How I Met Your Mother’ for Alyson Hannigan. I wanted to see what else she could do in a main protagonist role. But I just couldn’t stand most of the so-called “comedy” in it. Even some of her lines were extremely cringe to me. But there was one character who - in the same way most Buffy fans hate Xander or Riley - I hated a lot. I would grit my teeth every time he opened his mouth, anticipating the worst, most degrading and disgusting comments possible. Mostly about women and how he views them. But sometimes - about people with mental conditions or even physical incapacities.

The level of absolute vile this man spewed made me want to puke. And all I heard in response to it was just a laugh track for the most part. Sometimes Aly’s character would give him shit for it - but it wouldn’t do anything. He’d come back again with the very same.

I watched because of Lily.

I stopped because of Barney.

I tried. But it’s clear pure comedies are not for me.
