//it seems my depressions got ahold of me real good lately. Been slowly working through drafts, once i'm caught up i'll go ahead and queue them up. (it means nothing to say it but. i must ask. Why do rpcs these days favor such ridiculously super-aestheticized graphics for their blogs and icons like MY GIRLS AND GUYS AND NONBINEYS!!!! PLEASE..............

LIKE THE PRETTY ICONS AND THEMES ARE NICE BUT 1) your writing comes first (and the extreme formatting ive seen for some replies also counts as super-aestheticized) 2) also if you emphasize your graphics so much that i cant comfortably navigate your blog OR even tell what damn expressions your character icons are having, then ??????????????? what are you here for really

please.......... so much effort into the looks of things, that it feels like youre just detracting from the actual, main thing, which is writing your rp...................... like, i won't deny that pretty graphics makes the initial gauge to write with someone more appealing - but after the first few interactions, it will be up to you and how you write your muses to carry things forward.

even the dullest, most basic blog can have muses you're excited to write with if you think the writing alone is stellar or you already know the person behind the characters and you want to write with them as is!!

hell, if you think about it - rp is a social activity!! you're there to have fun with someone else, not spend half of the party time putting on your makeup!! like yes ofc going to the party looking really nice is a part of the fun of it, but once you're at the party, the main, more important, bigger thing is to be enjoying it with the other partygoers!!

—anyway, this vent isnt me taking a dig at anyone in particular. im just having a super grouchy rp boomer moment thinking on how these days, so much stock and effort is put into having extremely fancy graphics sometimes that its like??? you guys.........

Oh yeah, racists can absolutely step right out that door, I hear enough of your shit IRL. and by ‘enough’, I mean that when I step out of my house, I literally have no idea if the next racist is going to scold me for being ‘latino’, brown, or if they’re going to attempt to confide in me cause i’m ‘white’ about how racist they are.

I am mixed, I have mixed experiences, and by the way? Most of my muses are mixed. Only 3 are debatably white, and they’re mean/annoying characters anyways. My cousin is Latino. I navigate this world as a brown person like half to three quarters of the time. Let me write about mixed experiences pls. Racism affects us wayyyy more than just fashion choices.  I could write about racial headcanons all goddamn day. And White supremacy and beauty standards. I could make a HC meme about it. Don’t fucking try me. I do research on people who Exist.

I’m trying so hard not to backslide to old habits, fawn for someone’s attention, come off as annoying because I’m so afraid of being forgotten,  let people talk to me however that want or hurt me however they want because they matter more than me, not to feel like I’m so unworthy of being wanted that I need to do backflips to win someone back. 

It’s scary to me how my brain’s default state is to cause me as much pain as possible, anything other than that I have to work so fucking hard on.

So yeah. That’s a fuckin’ fun one. Hopefully they’ll refund me, I’ll try to get another used cintiq instead.
