never despair, never forget: the heart is what keeps us human. ❄ Tonia ft. AUs in
Genshin & Honkai & PGR. written and loved and forgotten by Flower. (indie / private / low activity)
1) CHILDE HAS A FEATHER PEN FROM CAPI BEFORE HE ULTIMATELY CHAIR-ED HIMSELF?????? OMMGGGG TARU HE RECOGNIZED U FR YOU STUPID HEAD
2) the fact that capi thinks childe isn't suited to be a politician, and also that capi is probs better a second mentor bc childe has admitted he already has one he deems his first and true mentor...... wow the review of the year man djdjjdjdjd
3) regarding the above. oh man. reminding me of tonitoni and how she would low-key be seen in the opposite way bc she Is suited for politics, in the sense that once she gets going she is very willing to work for the change that politicians ideally campaign for, and she has the brain to do it too. and tho tonitoni will never admit she has a mentor of her own, ngl capi would kinda be a great role model for her to work under and tbh tonitoni's natlan era days could be a great opportunity to have done so...... Mannnnnn
"Declaring your undying love on the battlefield... Oh, Niashka, that truly does sound so romantic, doesn't it?"
"Huh? What? The hell you talking about? Actually, forget it, just pass me the milk and tell me how to make whipped cream again. I don't think I made this thing right..."
"Oh, I am indeed rather old to some, but— Oh wait, where are you— Ah... there he goes." Despite the clear concern in her voice, Freyja just remains where she is and watches the young segment walk away.
The little one surely has important places to be and important things to do, so she won't interrupt him.
the fact there are god damn counselling rooms in the fatui omggggg tonitoni has 100000000% been in there. both as the one venting and the one listening
tho ngl it also makes me think......... since I hc that a part of her duties involves intel gathering, especially keeping an eye and ear out for internal dissidents, she probs could have been a prominent presence in said counselling rooms....... using them to keep an eye on said dissidents, but also knowing tonitoni, she used them as private spaces to genuinely hear out and advise others as best as a kid could.
tho also knowing her, her advice probs often boiled down to "LEAVE THE FATUI ALREADY" - and there's also a chance she used these private 1-1 sessions to quietly nudge and manipulate people to some occasional scheme or the other. the fatui are still ruthless to some extent after all.
one hiccup to all this is that these rooms were probs only in the palace lmao and tonitoni hardly gets to be there compared to the amount of time she's sent abroad lolllll. tho I guess if she knows about them, she's probs arranged her own version of them wherever she goes - tho whether people take up the offer depends on if they buy into her more childish side and forget she's a harbinger and direct superior.
which. tbh. makes her mischievous acts even more sensible bc as it is tonitoni plays up her nonsense as a way to get people to lower their guard, so if there's an additional use to doing so (people forgetting she's a dangerous person and thus relaying useful secrets to her) then shes not going to refuse.
it would probs only be an issue if people come to trust her overly so - or at least speak as if they've well and truly forgotten the hierarchy between them, even while she's listening and counseling them. like yeah in some ways it's all a ruse, in some ways there's legit care—but tonitoni doesn't want them, and definitely not Herself, to be vulnerable in a mental or emotional way. not deeply so. just enough that she can show care on a human level but Not the personal level.
There you are, comrade! I knew you'd come to see me off!
Come to think of it, I've been away from home for quite a while... By now, Teucer and the others must be wondering what's taking their big brother so long...
Once I'm home, I can finally finish telling Teucer those ghost stories I promised him. Then, the next time you visit, he can tell them to you himself.
Anyway, no need to worry about me. Barring any surprises, we should be seeing each other again very soon, right?
This may be the greatest or stupidest idea that Tonia has come up with.
Which probably means it's just straight up great, because they always say a true genius is difficult to comprehend regardless of how amazing it is anyway. Well, that's what that one bratty segment liked to often imply, and Tonia is—not believing that.
Just, selectively reinterpreting the logic in a way that the most important part of the core meaning stays intact, while divorcing the whole thing from the doctor's brand of awfulness.
Yeah. Absolutely foolproof way to go there. So, Tonia has come up with the most amazing, coolest, greatest idea of hers yet!
It's with that level of confidence that the girl finishes scribbling a note in the dark of midnight, using the bare minimum of moonlight to squint and even see what she's writing - can't let anyone think there's a random intruder when it's just her here! - before leaving it on the desk and slipping out. Her steps are perfectly quiet and perfectly timed for once, avoiding any routine patrols along the perimeter of the building.
The only people she can't truly avoid are the guards posted right at the sole entryway into the area - though one very stern glare and a silent, hand-slicing-the-neck-before-pointing-at-them motion ensures that no one comments on her presence and averts their eyes immediately, one going as far as to whistle like nothing of importance was happening.
(Tonia makes a mental note to give that guy a promotion, assuming they continued to keep their mouth shut by the time she gets back.)
Anyway, so far so good! Another point to her plan being a good one after all. As the girl ventures out into the wilderness, she begins to smile and even skip a few merry steps down the way, humming an idle tune as she imagined how the next handful of hours might go for her. If all's going well so far, then maybe the rest of it will go well too?
Ah, well. It will be if time in the Abyss wants to play nice with her plan too... That's a thought that immediately sobers her and her mood, making Tonia pause for a moment to look back. Where her brother is, hopefully, still deeply and utterly asleep and none the wiser of anything.
...There's another passing thought that she's now around the age when he wandered off into the depths of the earth, and it immediately brings a spike of concern and spine-crawling doubt (she's never really wandered off like this, not on purpose and not for very long; is this actually a good idea after all?) but as she straightens her back on reflex, the bag hefted over her shoulder shifts and rattles from the numerous things stuffed inside it, the bowls and utensils and random assortment of ingredients—reminding her of the plan's goal in the first place.
"...Nope, nope nope nope," the girl mutters as she lightly slaps her cheeks. "This is super important, and I have ways to not make it take ten million years. It'll be fine - more than fine! Actually, this is a great idea, me! Super cool and amazing and great! Everything is going to be fine, go fine, and end fine! Super okay and everything! Yup!"
A deep draw of breath, before Tonia sets her face into a look of determination. "This is going to be the coolest birthday ever. Because all my plans are cool. He'll see, soon!"
And with that, she marches on, disappearing into the tree line.

Unfortunately, he really is none the wiser to his sister's potentially atrocious idea again. He's surely going to wake up to a surprise (the lack of her presence) and will, in fact, freak out.

@abyssmalice replied to your post “ His current Doctor of Chaos gave him a suggestion...”:
when aven isn't looking, tonitoni is gonna doodle a slime next to the duckie
He looked away for one moment to re-organize his pencils. He has the slightest suspicion of who the culprit is, the one who desecrated his work of art.
im going to yell ITS RED TOO FUCK CHILDE HOW MUCH GEAR DO YOU WANT TO BE THEMATIC ON YOU
edit: actually this is so evil bc tonitoni would love this shit. its red and blue and white and gold and silver/grey. her fucking color palette. this is HER SET COLOR AND DESIGN WISE i should kill hoyoverse for this
She's saying this as a very important factual statement to remind everyone, and definitely not because some rifthound randomly spooked her while she was spacing out - resulting in her bashing the thing to a pulp while crying. As a reflex.
Because Tonia is definitely not some whimpy little girl who would cry over some big bad animal suddenly showing up when she wasn't expecting it. After all, she's a very big and mature and old not-little girl now! A Harbinger even! Who doesn't cry when she's scared. Definitely. There are no tears here, definitely.
chongyun is offering up popsicles, but has no idea who aventurine is.
Cue Tonia instantly snapping up those popsicles to viciously chomp on, one brain-freeze inducing bite at a time - not even the sticks will remain by the time she's done with them.
"—Okay, okay," she says, blinking her eyes open after squeezing them shut somewhere in-between her insane ice cream eating session. There's a slight wisp of icy, misty air still escaping her lips as she turns to the exorcist. "Who do you want dead? Yourself? Going to need maybe double the popsicles if it's you though - since you're blue and not yellow. And not even blue-green either."
