Multiverse Madness Chapter Fifty Six
When Ink woke up, his skull was aching, and he could feel Shattered's aura nearby, like he always did when he slept. Wait, he didn't remember going back to the castle after the game night... He'd fallen asleep without Shattered there. Ink's eye sockets snapped open, and he saw Shattered sitting next to him, watching him with an amused look on his face, and Ink's breathing quickened.
Ink didn't feel fear, he couldn't be scared since he couldn't feel it, but his body was still reacting. He could feel the phantom pain lighting up in his bones, his throat constricting as he couldn't breathe, be it from Shattered stabbing him or strangling him, and his bones were rattling a little. He forced himself to stay still, knowing not to run from Shattered if he was to be punished. He knew better than to do that, especially after the other times-
No, Ink wasn't thinking about it. Shattered had said he wouldn't do that, right? But this was disobeying a direct order, which Shattered told him he'd be hurt for, and Ink knew he shouldn't be on edge, because Shattered was his boss, he deserved any pain he felt, and pain didn't effect him much anyways anymore... then again, Shattered always knew just how to hurt him even when he didn't think he could feel anything worse than he already had. Then again, Shattered didn't look angry, but maybe he was just thinking about torture methods, or-
"relax, ink." Shattered interrupted Ink's internal rambling, "bill informed me he used sleeping magic on you."
Ink forced his breathing to slow, but it was difficult, and he almost asked 'really?' before remembering Shattered didn't like having to repeat himself.
"so i-i'm not in trouble?" Ink questioned, his still slightly shaking bones making his words hitch in a way they hadn't done in weeks.
"no, considering you weren't at fault. however.... if you are at fault, don't expect this same leniency." Shattered lowered his voice, and Ink nodded, his spine rattling quietly from the amount of tension it had.
"i understand, boss." Ink told him.
"good."
". . . boss... how long was i asleep?" Ink asked after a moment.
"through the night. i brought you home after the meeting was done, and remained with you after that." Shattered answered.
Home... right...
"thanks, boss. sorry i fell asleep." Ink apologized.
"it's fine, ink. it wasn't your fault, and i'm going to inform bill about your sleeping arrangements later." Shattered told him, "you have nothing to worry about right now."
Ink would feel relieved if he had emotions, but he didn't, so instead he feigned a relieved sigh, "thank you for understanding, boss, and thank you for the emotions. i... didn't expect to ever feel again..."
"you're welcome." Shattered responded, "trying to pretend to have fun is difficult for you, and if you're to form genuine bonds with nightmare's team and your teammates, and if you have fond memories to look back on, those bonds strengthen."
"that's... logical." Ink nodded, yawning a bit.
"still tired?" Shattered questioned.
"not really, no. i can stay awake. i don't know if food and sugar works, though..." Ink sighed, "i still feel tired all the time."
Ink was mostly awake from the closest feeling to adrenaline that he could feel. He wasn't scared, he couldn't feel that, but he'd gone into fight or flight due to a potential danger- wait no, Shattered wasn't a danger. He just disciplined Ink when he disobeyed an order, that wasn't a danger or a threat. Ink had just reacted to that, but it wasn't something to be feared, just... realized and attempted to be corrected, even though he'd missed that opportunity the moment he'd fallen asleep.
"poor thing." Shattered hummed with a smirk, "i'll look into something for you."
"thanks, boss." Ink thanked him, "how was the meeting?"
"mostly well, aside from nightmare and hate's bickering. the asgore agreed to an alliance." Shattered informed, "he was as exasperated by their arguing as i was... for a while. they got creative with insults and it became amusing. especially once the fighting started."
"i have blackmail on nightmare if you're interested." Ink mentioned.
"oh?" Shattered questioned, "like what?"
"well, back when blue was alive, for a while he had problems with a taco demon stealing his tacos a few times a week." Ink began, "and once me, dream, and murder were there at his house. dream recognized the aura the 'taco demon' had, and it was nightmare."
Shattered's jaw dropped, "is this another joke?"
"no, boss." Ink shook his skull no, "it was hilarious."
". . . i'm using this." Shattered smirked, "thank you, ink. you continue to find ways to be useful."
"you're welcome, boss. . . . sorry i disappointed you yesterday." Ink apologized.
"when? ink i told you i don't care that you slept this time." Shattered sighed.
"no, not that. with telling you bill was in a thong." Ink clarified.
"i wasn't disappointed." Shattered told him.
"you sounded like it." Ink shrugged, "i'm probably wrong, i just know that you sounded down."
Shattered's cheekbones were a slight, dark yellow for a moment, and he scoffed, "i just wanted some blackmail on him, that's all."
"ok." Ink wasn't sure he believed him, but Shattered didn't lie.
"now if you'll excuse me, i have other matters to attend to." Shattered informed as he got up.
"which au are you recruiting from?" Ink asked.
"i'm thinking negativetale." Shattered answered, and Ink nodded.
"good choice." Ink nodded.
Shattered dissolved into a swirl of black goop after that, and Ink remained there on the bed, with no idea of what to do now. . . . Bullying Violet some more couldn't hurt.
Shattered appeared in a dark AU that radiated negativity, something that he was already enjoying. He preferred these types of AUs over most others, finding pleasure in the amount of pain and suffering that existed here. The only downside was that death was common, so sources of negativity shrunk, which was one of the only drawbacks, but it had it's advantages. In a place such as this, where it was kill or be killed, someone had to become constantly ready for a fight, constantly on edge for an attack, and a ruthless and heartless killer.
Shattered could use someone else like that, because while Ink was the perfect weapon, it didn't hurt to have a pawn of a similar quality, despite how said pawns having emotions could be a drawback. As long as those emotions weren't problems, Shattered didn't particularly care, but Violet's excitement for killing gave him some nasty headaches, almost as bad as flashbacks to his host's last moments. Shattered sighed again at the memory, frown growing in distaste as he started walking down the snowy path he'd appeared on, looking for the Sans of this AU. Now, Shattered didn't want to have to deal with a Papyrus, and while Nightmare preferred to have them gotten out of the way or just simply getting them killed, Shattered had a different idea.
While it wasn't common, there were Sanses who hated their brothers, and Shattered knew this one definitely did. He could even sense it, and it was very attention getting, especially as Shattered sensed the skeleton behind him. Shattered turned around, seeing the Sans standing there in an orange hoodie and gray vest, black shorts, and orange shoes. He was missing his left eyelight, and he had a crack going down from the top of the left side of his skull. Shattered was aware this skeleton wasn't necessarily powerful, but that's where LV came in, or just using him as a scout or a diversion.
"who the hell are you? haven't seen you before." The Sans questioned, sounding curious.
"my name is shattered, and i've come here with a proposal." Shattered introduced himself.
"we haven't even had a date yet." The skeleton smirked, and Shattered paused for a moment before rolling his eyelight.
"yes, very funny. i do have an offer for you though, and i suggest taking this somewhat seriously if you want to get out of here and keep your brother safe." Shattered told him, and that caught his interest.
"i'm listening." The Sans informed.
"well, i come from outside of this universe, and technically outside of this multiverse, but that's beside the point. the point is i'm recruiting skeletons, such as yourself, to work for me. you would be responsible for terrorizing, torturing, and killing other monsters and humans of the multiverse, outside of this world. you would be staying at my castle outside of this universe, and your brother is allowed to come with you." Shattered pitched.
"wait... you're serious?" The skeleton questioned.
"yes. why? did i come across as joking?" Shattered responded, and the Sans chuckled.
"nah, just didn't think a job like that existed.... . . . alright, i'll join your team or whatever, i've just got one request."
"which is?" Shattered asked.
"my brother dies before i leave." The Sans crossed his arms, and Shattered grinned.
Shattered chuckled, "i don't have a problem with that. you will need a nickname, though, as you'll be working with other versions of you, and you'll need something to distinguish you."
"hmm.... how's slick? that taken?" The skeleton asked.
"i don't think so." Shattered answered, "slick it is. now, where can we find this brother of yours?"
"follow me." Slick started leading Shattered down the path, and the corrupted Guardian of Positivity followed behind him.
Player hadn't been expecting the call they'd gotten that night. It hadn't been too horrible; protecting this Aftertale timeline from the invading Swapfell timeline while Geno helped protect the rest of the multiverse with the Stars. They'd been surprised when they'd gotten the call, from Murder, saying that they needed to come to the Omega Timeline immediately, and that something had happened. Player didn't view themself as responsible over Geno, but they had allowed him to get involved in this by contacting the Stars, and they would've helped regardless.
However, when Murder said that Geno had been hacked, well, that raised some alarm flags. Player was aware of what X was capable of, and he was much worse than Cross. Player had never been able to get into XTale, despite as much as they wanted to help XGaster obtain the perfect, happy ending for everyone, but Player wasn't someone that XGaster could control, and so they were locked out of the universe. Player hadn't cared too much, as it was the Gaster's decision, despite how much of a pain Gasters were to deal with in the multiverse, but even so, they'd still believed they could help.
That was in the past, though, as XTale was destroyed, Cross and X were running around working for Nightmare and terrorizing everyone, and circling back to their original train of thought, that Geno had been hacked. Player was capable of getting the corrupted code back to normal, even if it would be a difficult process to fully restore it without a glitch, but they could still do it. According to what they'd learned from the Sanses they were working with, Cross and X posed different threat levels. Cross was the easiest to fight out of the two, as he didn't fully use the Overwrite ability, or at least utilize it like X did.
Cross tended to fight for himself, or just hack someone and make them help fight, but X took it further than that. Player wasn't a stranger to Charas playing puppet master or taking advantage of their environments and the people around them, but X had the ability to take it further than they could. X could hack and control the code they encountered and corrupted, which was dangerous when used in the right circumstances, and they knew how to use it better than Cross did. Epic had mentioned several times that Cross used to always be such a good guy; that he was, despite being a bit temperamental, a good person.
A while back, Epic had gone more into detail about how Cross used to be, saying how he'd been protective of his friends, and he'd wanted to help people, or at the very least help the people he cared for. Player had heard that Dream had tried swaying Cross to their side; reaching the good in him that Epic spoke so fondly of, so mournfully of, but it had failed. Dream had said he could sense Cross considering his words, but the next time he saw him, it was like the conversation had only driven Cross further down this path. Player wouldn't be surprised if X was at least partially responsible, as most Charas were typically very good manipulators, and the main and only times this wasn't the case was when they had different roles in their AUs.
Story was one of the least manipulative Charas that Player had encountered aside from Underswap Charas. They also acted more like a goat than most of the other Storyshift Charas Player had met, which was both humorous and interesting. Player sent a clone to the Omega Timeline, and jumped to that perspective, splitting off part of their mind into that consciousness, and focusing on that version of themself. When they looked around, they were standing in front of the house that belonged to Story and their little brother Starry, and Player saw Knife poking his skull out of the shed, waving them down, and they approached him, seeing he was slightly battered.
"Murder text that Geno was hacked?" Player questioned, just verifying, and Knife nodded.
"yeah, me and murder figured him out, fought him even when he kept freakin' teleporting us, and uh... yeah, he's hacked. murder's seen this happen before, and it's happened to him." Knife answered.
"The two of you worked together?" Player asked, honestly a bit surprised.
They'd heard about Knife and Murder going to Danceswap earlier and behind Dream's back in order to help fight, but it still surprised them. If Player was being honest, they were also confused. Murder hated Knife for his actions in his timeline, and Knife was unbothered by that, viewing him a hypocrite at most, but he also seemed fascinated by him at the same time; constantly trying to mess with him but at the same time trying to get along with him. Player could understand Knife wanting to have some form of relatability with someone, that they could understand, as there was no one they personally could find themselves relating to very much, but what they didn't understand was why Murder put up with him.
Knife clearly pissed Murder off, be it from getting him to kill, being a bad influence, being annoying, messing with him, and Player had assumed that Murder would get fed up and ignore him until he left him alone, but that wasn't happening. It might be because he hated himself to the point where he was making himself suffer through Knife's company, but that didn't explain working with him and fighting alongside him, not to mention teaming up with him after the LV Incident at Underswap. Most of the Stars didn't trust Knife after that, Color having to vouch for Knife and get everyone to begrudgingly give him one more chance, but even still, they didn't know why Murder was doing so.
"yeah, we both agreed that something was off about him, and we looked into it, but i'm the one that convinced him to snoop with me! anyways, we found out he bugged Story's house, then we found him watching us outside, we chased him, fought him, knocked him out, and brought him here. murder's in with him." Knife summarized.
"Wait, bugged?" Player repeated.
"yeah, like he carved something into the wall so bill could spy on us." Knife elaborated.
"Damnit..." Player muttered, before saying, "Let me see him."
Knife nodded, leading them inside of the shed where Geno was restrained, hands tied behind his back and slumped against a wall, out cold with a small dent in his skull, probably where he'd been knocked unconscious. Murder was leaning against one of the wooden logs making a poorly constructed cage, a bit more battered and scorched than Knife, and there was a small, smoking stick between his teeth.
"Wait, Murder, you're not supposed to be smoking." Player said, looking at him.
"yeah, i'm not." Murder informed after pulling it away from his mouth, revealing it was a wafer cookie, and Knife snickered.
"told ya they'd buy it." Knife chuckled, and Murder rolled his eyelights, tossing it at Knife, but the skeleton caught it and ate it.
"yeah, yeah..." Murder muttered with a yawn, rubbing at his eye sockets, "damn i want a drink or a smoke though..."
"you tried ripping off one of a flowey's leaves and smoking it? i mean he is a weed." Knife smirked.
". . . that was actually a good joke." Murder admitted, and Knife's smirk grew.
Player jumped as the door swung open, Dream entering the shed and looking around, "i heard about geno, is he ok?! murder you said he was hacked!"
"yeah, he's hacked alright." Murder sighed.
"he... doesn't look it." Dream pointed out.
"yeah, that's the weird part. he hasn't looked it at all, but he has been. see, we saw that glitchy x thing flicker over his eye sockets, and murdy birdy-" Knife snickered as Murder flipped him off, "-hehe. anyways, it was only there for a second, then it vanished, then he did, and... yeah he didn't make it easy to knock him out..."
"knife! he only has one hp!" Dream scolded.
"yeah, and i was gentle." Knife used a tone that indicated that he'd be rolling his eyelights if he had them.
"you? gentle at something?" Murder questioned with a smirk, "that's a surprise."
"awwww, are you a fragile little emo?~" Knife asked with a smirk of his own, "don't worry, i can be careful with ya~"
"not what i meant." Murder sighed.
Player couldn't refrain from asking any longer, "Ok, what's the deal here? Ever since that meeting I have seen the sexual tension between you two."
"what?!" Dream exclaimed, looking between the two of them.
Murder protested "it's not like that!" at the same time Knife said, "we only kissed once!"
Dream looked like Error did before he crashed, and Player had a feeling their expression looked similar.
". . . WHAT?!" Dream exploded, his skull bright yellow, "WHEN DID THAT HAPPEN?!"
"oh my god, knife!" Murder snapped, glaring at him, "i thought we agreed to not talk about that!"
"oh come on! like it wasn't obvious!" Knife scoffed.
"guys, seriously, WHAT?!" Dream asked, "when did this happen?!"
"it was after the lv thing, alright?! he woke me up, i was trying to sleep, he wouldn't shut up, i tried... that to shut him up, it worked, and i went back to sleep!" Murder sighed.
"i.... oh my stars..." Dream mumbled.
"i didn't even process i did it until the next morning when knife wouldn't stop snickering at me, and when i thought about why... yeah..." Murder looked down, grumbling a little.
"I mean LV can make people unpredictable, especially when they're exposed to high amounts in short periods of time. It makes sense that murder would do something he usually wouldn't, since LV can have similar effects to alcohol." Player mused.
"damnit, now i want a drink and lv..." Murder groaned.
"hey, i can take ya out to-" Knife started to offer with a grin, and Murder cut him off by saying, "no."
"so- nothing was meant by it at all? since you basically kissed another version of yourself." Dream questioned.
"nothing was meant by it." Murder confirmed.
"oh come on, it can't be much different than mas-" Knife started, but Player cut him off.
"don't finish that sentence."
". . ." Knife did a zipping motion over his mouth, and Player nodded.
". . . i don't think i can ever get that mental image out of my head." Dream frowned.
"if it makes you feel better, it only lasted a few seconds, and i was too shocked to reciprocate." Knife mentioned.
"that... i don't know if that helps or not." Dream said.
"welp, i tried." Knife sighed, "besides, i'm technically not even a sans. i mean sheath is him, but me? nah, not him. speaking of he wasn't awake for that, so no need to worry about that."
"oh thank the stars." Dream sighed in relief.
"he was pretty good though." Knife mentioned.
"knife!" Dream glared, and Knife laughed.
Geno started to wake up, thankfully diverting all of their attentions away from this topic of discussion, and Player watched him blink his good eye socket open, looking between them in confusion and mild pain. Player sealed off Geno's access to the code of this world and any codes inside of it, just so he couldn't try anything. They should've done that first, honestly, but they hadn't been thinking about it, and then the following conversation had been beyond distracting.
"geno? are you.... you?" Dream asked.
"what do you mean?..." Geno questioned, "are they them?"
"oh no no no, you're not playing that mind game, bucko." Knife tsked, "you're the brainwashed idiot here, not us."
"umm.. i'm not brainwashed? i caught you two with glitching white 'x's over your eye sockets, tried getting you to snap out of it, and you knocked me out!" Geno replied.
"that's a load of crap, geno!" Murder snapped.
"how?! from what i heard, you've been overwritten in the past, and knife over there isn't exactly trustworthy." Geno nodded his skull at Knife, "why else would you two work together if you weren't both mind controlled by cross?"
That... was a good point.
"yeah, but here's the thing, pal." Knife walked over to him, crouching in front of him, "my code is already glitched out. i doubt that cross can overwrite me if it's already been altered."
"but it could be- and is possible." Geno said.
"well, if you're so sure..." Knife stood up, walking over to Player, "go ahead, ladybug. check me, but between the two of us, kill_sans is a less incriminating code than 'sxns', don'tcha think?"
Player looked between the two, before checking Knife's code.
"K1LL_sans" LV 20 HP 1/1 AT 1 (999999999) EXP: 999999999 DF 1 (999999999) NEXT: 999999999 WEAPON: True Knife ARMOR: Plot * An outcode due to his universe being destroyed. Likes messing with Murder and is fed up with Geno right now, and he wants to stab him for being a manipulative, lying brat.
". . . Ok yeah he's clean." Player informed Dream before turning to Murder, checking his stats again.
"sans" LV 20 HP 850/850 AT 323 EXP: 999999999 DF 34 NEXT: 999999999 WEAPON: Magic ARMOR: Unequipped * An outcode due to his universe being destroyed. Annoyed with Knife and is angry at Geno for lying. He wants alcohol or a cigarette very badly, he likely needs an Anonymous Addicts meeting.
"see? told you i'm clear." Murder sighed.
"I didn't even say you weren't hacked yet." Player said.
"your face said it." Murder shrugged, and Player nodded.
Then they checked Geno's stats...
"sxns" XV 1 HP x/1 XT 1 EXP: 0 DX 0 XEXT: x0 WEXPXX: Xagxc XXMOR: Unxquipxxx * xxxx xxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxx xx xxxxxxxx xxxxxxxx xxxxx xxxxxx xxxxxxxx xxxx xx x xxxxx xxxx xxx xxxxxx
Player paused, going still, and they looked over at Dream sympathetically, "Dream-"
"yeah...." Dream sighed knowingly, "i still don't understand how this is possible. how is he overwritten and yet he's showing no physical symptoms?"
"wait, what? dream, i'm not overwritten!" Geno insisted.
"Geno, give it up. Once I get your code back to normal, you can tell us everything about what happened." Player informed, and they put their hand on his chest.
"wait-!" Geno started to yell, but his body went still, becoming made of different shades of red and black pixels, and Player's vision flashed as they were transported into Geno's code. When they looked around, they saw lines of code all around them, flickering and cycling through different parts, all of it glitched out with 'x's. Player sighed, floating through the code until they reached the main center; Geno's soul fragment made of white pixels, filled with code, all of it containing purple 'x's throughout. Player placed their hand on it, starting to get the corrupted code out, only to look up at a bright white light being aimed at them. Player couldn't get hurt here, or at least to where they would feel pain, but they could get forced out of Geno's code if their digital form was damaged enough. Player teleported back as a Gaster Blaster shot at where they'd been floating, and they looked up as Geno, black and white and glitched, appeared floating a bit away, more glitched Gaster Blasters forming.
"Damnit." Player sighed, snapping their fingers and encasing him in a block of transparent red pixels, "Wait there, you'll thank me later."
"I dxn't thinx he wilx." A new voice spoke up, gaining their attention.
It was a human; a Chara to be more specific, and they were black and white. They had white skin, white hair that covered their right eye, their left eye having a black sclera and white iris. The Chara was wearing a black long-sleeved shirt, a white hooded short-sleeved jacket, black shorts, and white shoes. A few 'x's were riddling their body like Error's glitches, and their body was pixelated, but Player could tell exactly who this was. X.
"X, we meet again." Player noted, and he saw his face sour, "So this is what you look like as a human."
"Axd thxs is wxxt yox lxok lixe as x dixitxl ixrxtatixn." X countered, "Dxx'n't knxw yox coxld get in hxre."
"And I wasn't aware you were capable of this either. How are you here?" Player asked.
"Wexl, I'm nxt. I juxt splxt oxx a piexe of xy cxnscioxsnexs to bx hxre." X explained, "It'x buxgy thoxgh."
"Yeah, it's a bit hard to understand you. Luckily you won't be here for long." Player said, and they snapped their fingers, accessing the codes of Geno's Gaster Blasters, firing them at X.
X vanished, glitching out of sight before reappearing, slicing at Player with a glitching purple knife. Player dodged it, knowing this fight was pointless, and all they needed was to get to Geno's core codes in order to get rid of X's presence here. They sighed, deciding to end this quickly as they created multiple duplicates of themself, each equipped with a Gaster Blaster attached to their hands, and sent them after X. X weaved through the blasts with a grace Player recognized from Royal Guards, countering them with knives or making them blast each other.
Ok, so this wouldn't be as easy as Player had assumed... Damnit... Player accessed more of Geno's attacks, sending a large Gaster Blaster at him when he had nowhere else to dodge. The blast blew through his body, only for it to glitch and heal itself. It was just a digital manifestation of code that they couldn't hurt, but X could eject them from Geno's code.
As previously mentioned, it was a waste of time to fight X, and Player just needed a way to get X's code corruption out of Geno, as problematic as this would be. Player kept him occupied with more clones, heading for Geno's core code, only for X to create clones of his own, lunging at them with large blades, mirroring each other in motion. Player teleported back, sending bones at them, and they glitched out of existence, only to appear behind them. Player dodged the attacks, switching to Gaster Blasters to vaporize them, and they went closer to Geno's core codes. Unfortunately, Geno was no longer caged, and he was sending his own attacks at Player, forcing them to dodge.
"Geno, listen to me! X is controlling you! You need to snap out of it!" Player tried to get through to him, but Geno's face remained impassive, eye sockets covered in that glitching, pixelated 'x'.
Player cursed as they had to dodge more Gaster Blasters and bones, along with several knives from X, and they had to rely on the code they had available to them in here in order to counter the attacks, relying on teleportation for dodging and evading. It was difficult to fight two people, even though one's thoughts were likely being controlled by the other, but Geno still seemed conscious in a way, just not in control over himself. X knew exactly what Geno would do, and he could tell the skeleton to do anything he wanted.
Player couldn't hold them off forever, he just had to keep them busy... Player sent a clone after Geno's core code, and they focused on keeping X and Geno occupied with trying to hit them, hoping X didn't have another clone that could see Player's. Unfortunately, due to concentrating on trying to keep their clone undetected, it left them open to an attack from a Gaster Blaster that took out one of their legs and one of their arms, leaving them floating, temporarily immobilized. X approached them with a smug, almost cocky smirk, Geno staying back and watching the two, seemingly ready to attack Player or defend X or himself at a moment's notice.
"Yxu knox what X thinx?" X asked, "I thixk yxu'xl be thx one xhat'x nox hexe for lxxg."
"You'd be surprised." Player stated.
"Nx, I dxn'x thinx X wilx be." X responded, summoning a purple knife into their hand.
"Then what's that behind you?" Player questioned, Geno and X both turning around as Player's clone put it's hand on Geno's core code, accessing it and expelling X from Geno's code.
"Mxthex xxxxxx!!!" X cursed, his form becoming heavily pixelated before he vanished, and Geno's appearance returned to normal before he vanished, likely conscious now.
Player checked his code again, scrolling through the lines rapidly, and they were able to find a vulnerability in his code; one that wasn't supposed to be there and was likely planted there. Player closed it up, trapping it in the process in case access was attempted again, which would result in a very bad headache for Cross and/or X.... along with a nonstop loop of "Never Gonna Give You Up" by Rick Astley that wouldn't stop for twenty four hours and one second. Why the additional second? Why not?
Player exited Geno's code, finding themself back in their own body, and they backed away from Geno, seeing him in quite a bit of discomfort.
"geno? are you ok?" Dream asked in concern.
"ugh... what the hell-?" Geno started to question, before his eye socket widened in realization, "i... i wasn't-"
"Unfortunately you were." Player sighed, "But don't worry, I got him out of your code."
"i... i can't believe this..." Geno muttered as Player undid the restraints tying his hands behind his back, "i... i was a toy for another damned brat!"
"geno, it's ok. it's not your fault, it wasn't you. this happens to people more than i'd like to admit, and i know it has to be terrible to go through, but he can't control you again." Dream tried to reassure him, and Player nodded.
"If Cross or X tries, they'll regret it. I've boobytrapped your mind." Player informed, and Knife snorted.
"hehe! you said 'trapped!' Knife chuckled, and Murder elbowed him harshly in the side.
"shut up you idiot." Murder hissed.
"why don't you make me again?~" Knife responded, and Murder's cheekbones turned light blue.
Player decided to ignore that conversation in favor of clearing their throat, saying, "As I was saying, your mind is safe, they won't get back in. Though we will need to know what you told them and what you know about them, it's vital knowledge."
"i have no problem telling you about that, i just need something for my damn headache..." Geno grimaced, rubbing his forehead.
"i think story has something in their kitchen, come on." Dream went over and helped Geno to his feet before leading him out of the shed, pushing the door open with his foot, and it swung shut behind them.
Player watched Murder and Knife leave next, their mind still reeling a bit from the revelation earlier, and then they heard Knife whisper, "it's so damn fun tricking everyone into thinking we actually have something forming between us, you've kept it up longer than i thought you would."
"yeah yeah, shut it. i'm only in on this because blue loved pranks so damn much." Murder mumbled.
". . . you're still a good kisser though." Knife whispered with a near silent snicker.
"shut it, i told you that was the lv." Murder hissed quietly.
"lv does stand for love~" Knife smirked quietly, and Murder elbowed him again as they exited the shed.
Player still didn't understand what the hell their dynamic was, and they knew they'd probably spend the rest of the night trying to figure it out, if not longer. Player sighed, and they followed after the four of them, a mix of exasperated and confused.

She's been there for far more you would want to know
she has been there for a while now...
Man this was fun. So I saw @m-chromatic 's palette challenge and thought "eh, why the hell not." The first one involves my original character Pip, while the other has ValenSealover's Negativetale Sans and Papyrus. Well, kinda. Papyrus is dead here.
