“Tell me. What’s troubling you?”

That was a lie. And it was a lie that he would see right through. She would have to come up with something better. There was much on her mind, it was true, but nothing she could say aloud, not even to Obi-Wan. The Council had made it quite clear that the highest level of secrecy was required for her upcoming mission, and though Siri understood why that was, she still did not like having to lie to Obi-Wan. She had never liked lying, though she was going to have to do it very well if she wanted to survive this mission and ever come back to the Temple. ( Best to start now...this would likely be the last time she’d see him in a long time, if not ever, and surely the last time he’d think well of her. )
“ Adi’s and my mission to Kessel did not go well. ” Siri shook her head in feigned frustration, bitterness edging into her voice. “ She does not trust my judgement when she should, and the mission failed because of it. ”
There was a pause, then a quick “ And no, I don’t want to talk about it. ” He knew her too well, he surely would know she was lying if she went any further into the warped version of events that she and her Master had decided upon.
“ I should go, anyway. I’m supposed to meet Adi...she probably wants to lecture me some more. ”
