Nekocon 2014 compilation
One time at Nekocon, I was playing Homestuck mafia with a large group of people. If you dont know how to play mafia, basically everyone gets a secret ‘role’ or two and play according to that role. When everyone is ‘asleep’ (has their eyes closed), a ‘wolf’ will kill someone and in the ‘morning’ it will be revealed who died and people have to accuse someone of being a wolf and execute them.
One time I had the roles of ‘Lover’ and ‘Hunter’. The ‘Lover’ role is only held by two people, and if one died, the other would die as well. If a ‘Hunter’ was killed, they could choose someone out of the group to die as well.
So if anyone had the audacity to kill me, I had the power to take two other people with me!
(Although I would have felt bad about my lover dying. They seemed nice)
Sooo this is our Utena cosplay skit from Nekocon 2014, entitled "Qualifications of a Duelist - Prelude." We've had this skit in mind for years, but never had the time or the people to funnel into it until this year when we finally made it a priority. Though it is definitely intended as a loving homage to the show and will mostly make sense to fans of Utena (every movement and grouping was meant to be symbolic, and to match the lyrics - just like our super-symbolic source material) we hope it's fun to watch even if you've never seen it. And on that note, if you have not, please give it a try! It's getting close to 20 years old, I believe, but it has aged well.

From our last trial at Nekocon 2014!! A huge thank you for everyone that attended and came to see us off!! We've moved from Nekocon to Anime Mid Atlantic, and we have a brand-new, hair raising trial in the works for everyone at AMA, so be sure to stop by!
While at Nekocon I took part in a music video set to Weird Al's "Tacky". It was a lot of fun to take part in and Richard did a wonderful job editing it all together. The first two minutes of the video are a tribute to a man named Big Danny T. I unfortunately never got a chance to know him as this was the first Nekocon I attended but he is missed by many and was a pillar of the Nekocon community.
