Lucius never gets to babysit. For good reason. Nell doesn’t trust him. For good reason. Unfortunately, Amelia does trust him and, somehow, Lucius got strapped with the three little gingers for a couple hours while Nell and Amelia went out. No one died. It’s a resounding success. When he hands one of the tiny little girls off to Mama’s arms, he says, “For the record she’s trying to say duck...we went to the duck pond, not the...y’know...anyway, it ain’t my fault she’s got a lisp.”

     “Do me a quick favor,” she grabs Nell’s shoulders ( delicately of course ) and looks her over some. “Oof, you’re tall.” Is the only comment she makes during the weird silence of her doing so. But after a minute-- “Perfect. That’s all I needed.”
