The Aftermath of NeoCon
NeoCon is over. There is an aftermath of buzz circling about who won in each of the different categories, whose innovations astounded onlookers, as well as what the trends seemed to be prevalent at the 2014 event. The winner of the gold in the 2014 Best of NeoCon Competition in the Tables: Training and Work category was Bold Furniture. They won with their One Collection, a fully height adjustable design system (a prevalent topic at NeoCon 2014…) Among the winners were some very recognizable names. Haworth, with its “Openest Collection” by Studio Urquiola won Best of Competition. Shaw Contract Group won silver in the Carpet: Modular category. Haworth, again, won gold in the Case Goods category with its Suite line. One trend that stood out to the attendees of NeoCon 2014 was the adjustable work surface. Gone are the days of just having to get a desk that is 32 or 36 inches high. There are countless options now of adjustable work surfaces that allows everyone to maneuver their desk how they see fit. The worker can stand, can sit and anything in-between to improve ergonomics and employee satisfaction. There are many blog posts and articles about NeoCon 2014, but one that I found particularly interesting was the one from the Ghidorzi Interior Design Team, who was lucky enough to attend NeoCon. Check out their blogpost to learn a little more about the event and to see pictures of the takeaways they describe!! http://www.ghidorzi.com/commercial-design-trends-and-takeaways-neocon-ghidorzi-interior-design-team
