Like a Virgin...

As I've seen on this wonderful website, there is a lot of valuable, and at times even breath-taking pictures, photos, memes etc. All because of the adhesive that binds us all together that is "fandom." For me? It's really great to see others express themselves in a way that no one else had thought of; in ways that they found inspiration and their contributions thus add even more branches to the large tree that we as fans have produced our tributes to our own fandom.  As for me? I've done projects before, and they weren't as good, or I felt the design over-all was not as cohesive as it could be or should have been.  So, as the title says, like a virgin; I am going for it. I've never done something this big for any sort of my fandom before. Am I nervous? Absolutely! But, when I like someone or a group of people I like to make stuff for them or do something for them. I am making something for the Hot Pepper Gaming crew that isn't necessarily original I don't think, but rather is something that all fandom inspired projects grow from; their hearts.  I'm a perfectionist, so as you can imagine in my previous attempts to do something for others it just didn't feel right. In this case, I'm stitching embroidery for the gaming crew. I'm not sure I can draw very well as so many of you can, or use programs on your computers that have literally made me say, "My God this is... Amazing!" For me, I feel like doing this for the Hot Pepper Gaming quartet (because I don't want to leave Adam out [@Bang_dangerous on twitter]) has been sort of therapeutic for me. I feel like if i did this for someone else; it wouldn't be as good, or I wouldn't have as much fun with it as I am having. In this case, I am making a coat of arms for the Hot Pepper Gaming peeps. Embroidery [needlepoint], like any art or science, can be taxing; it can really show you how patient you truly are with yourself. You make slow progress. Sometimes the thread gets tangled and you're just cursing up a storm and you want to set the entire thing on fire. But in the end? I feel my efforts will be worth it. So, I hope to get a good photo of it when I'm all done with it!
